Led by Sachin Tendulkar, Indian batsmen put up a strong batting performance on second day of two day practice match against C.A. president's eleven. India put up 320 for six by the end of the day. Tendulkar led the scoring chart by scoring 92, Laxman 57, both retired Rohit Sharma 56 N.O., Rahul Dravid 45 and Gambhir 35 were the main scorers. Virat Kohli and Rahane missed on the opportunity who scored just 1 and 3 respectively. Tendulkar's form will encourage the Indian camp and his fans who are expecting his century of international centuries for a long time. After poor bowling performance yesterday, the good batting performance to day will cheer up the Indian fans ahead of the all important test series which will take off on boxing day from M.C.G., Melbourne.

Well.. lets just hope things turn in our favor. Though its sure our batsmen are going to display a fine performance, what gets me worried is the bowling attack and specially spinners. Ojha didn't have a good day yesterday, and the conditions aren't going to change for a while. Lets just hope for the best and be prepared for the rest. Enjoy myloting.

Thank you himzey. Your concern about Indian bowling attack is genuine but return of Zaheer will do wonders to this attack. Secondly the pitch they bowled on yesterday was a flat one and we should not read much into our spinners getting hammered there.

I think the whole of India wants to see Sachin score his 100th 100 at Melbourne or Sydney. I think given the Bradman memorial weekend, it would be brilliant if Sachin can score the century in the Boxing Day test. But it is good to see Indian batsmen hitting some form. The concern though is Ishaant's injury!! Cheers! Ram

Thank you ram. I too was woried about Ishant's fitness but it has been clarified that there is nothing wrong with Ishant. He was supposed to bowl only 6 overs in that match and during the sixth over he was bowling some strapping in his ankle seems to have loosened and the management did not want him to get back after attending to to his strapping.

In the austrelia tour it very important for the indian batmans to be consistant. On paper indian batting strongest batting lineup in whole cricket world but when the indian players play outside the india then it becomes very defficult to them play on the hard track which allows ball to swing as well as bounce. It is very important for the sachin tendulkar, vvs laxman, dravid , to play a long innings because they are major parts of the indan test batting line.

You are right, It is very important for the batsmen to be consistent not only in Australia but on any foreign tour. Barring recent tour of England India have done well on overseas tour in recent years. We have also won number of test matches starting with the famous win on Perth during our last tour to Australia. Dravid along with Tendulkar and Laxman has been the main stay of our batting line up for more than a decade now.

It is good to see that Indian batsman havd player superb and scored well. More likely sachin's high scorer, his compelence inning telling that he will create history soon and australian will let him do that. I am waiting for the day. Laxaman do well played, as alwzys with australia he is demon for them. Other player do contributed and taken in account that Indians are more confident than australian and they will beat them. Nice to see a good score board from Indian batsmen after bowlers were tjrash out.

Thank you kundanraj. It is indeed satisfying to see Indian batsmen scoring in the tour opener. Normally they always struggle during the initial matches particularly in places like Australia, South Africa, England. We all wait for that century from Sachin which has eluded him for so long.

It is the most awaited cricketing tour after world cup this year. Indians are in prime form and Australians are also doing very well, both the sides are balanced though there are some problems with Australian middle order, its gonna be a great series.

You are right umesh this test match series is going to be a great feast for the cricket lovers all over the world. Both sides are well balanced and as seen in the tour opener Indian batting line up, which is always suspect during the initial period of the foreign tour, is in a great shape. That is good news. As about Australian middle order not performing to the expectations, We have to keep in mind that they are all great batmen and they are playing at home. They can strike form any moment.
