It is near Christmas once again kababayans and most Roman Catholics attend the Simbang Gabi or the 9 Mornings. I have completed the 9 mornings for 3 consecutive years already and is still actively going this year. They say that if you completed the 9 day novena what you ask from God will be granted. Though I don't really rely on it, My understanding is Have Faith and feel the spirit of Christmas the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ who came to save us from our sins. This is the time to repent and be closer to God and become his humble servant. Merry Christmas everybody and enjoy the time being with you family and cherish every moment. Let God be the center of your life.

Simbang Gabi is a unique Filipino tradition by devout Catholics, passed from one generation to the next. Although as time goes by fewer and fewer people are going to the church especially during early mornings every Christmas season - there are still many who carry the torch. I commend you for your devotion.
Aside from following this tradition though, we must also realize that Christmas is not just going to the mass or the parties or the gifts - but loving one another and doing good for others no matter how small the act.

Yes indeed it is a tradition and up to now it is still strongly practiced by filipinos especially us here in Bohol. If I would give you the chance to see how full is the church during the simbang gabi, literally this saying is true "di mahulugang karayom". Loving one another is one of the commandments of God and indeed we should in our selves be like Jesus who humbled himself and serve the people to please the Father in heaven. Enjoy the season of Christmas and never forget the real meaning of Christmas.

HHhmmmnnnn... I haven't attend "Simbang Gabi" since I think more than 10 years ago....
This year, I still cannot attend Simbang Gabi because at first....I sleep late... So I can't wake up early....
Anyway, I must admit that I am not really a practicing Catholic... But, I'm sure before this year ends... I will visit our church near here... To say Thank you to Him in a sacred place...

Wow, I recommend you to attend even one of the 9 mornings. It would feel good to attend to mass early in the morning you would feel that you started your day right. Before the year ends make sure that you give Him praise and glory. Thank the Lord for everything that you got in your life right now. God sees what is in our hearts and hears our prayers. Merry Christmas.

In our town it is still famous. It just really depend on the person how he looks at the simbang gabi. Even just this morning I saw a lot of people attending the mass. If you have time go to church and pray. Have Faith my friend and enjoy the spirit of Christmas.

I used to go to early morning masses together with my mom before but now I don't. I only go to the christmas eve mass now. I miss those days but, I have nothing to wish for so I don't really go to those 9 mornings anymore. I just pray everyday, and talk to God.

At least you are commemorating the day of the Lord on Christmas eve. Yes indeed praying everyday and talking to God is a great way to devout our time to God even though we were busy we should never forget that through Him we are given time to enjoy our life. So live fully and live according to God's will. Merry Christmas.

Go ahead and buy your daughter wonderful gifts. Im sure she will love it because you are the one giving it and you are her mom. She should be happy receiving those gifts. It all depends on the person on how he shows his faith and love in God it doesn't matter what mass u attend to or on how many mass u have completed. God sees what is in our heart's desire. Merry Christmas

We must put into our mind if what is the true essence of Christmas. Christmas is all about our savior, Lord Jesus Christ. We must never forget to thank Him for the things that he had done to us. Without Him, we are all but nothing.
