I'm a women bit I have never heard of don't ask a female about her age. I've heard then say that about old people. If someone asks me how old I am I'm not scared to say it out loud or anything. I'm 23 a mother of a 10 month old and soon to be a mommy of another baby. I'm a wife as well. I have nohing to hide about who I am. I'm proud of my age. A man should never ask a women's weight.

Having a child doesn't stop a women for lying about the age moat women that have kids will make themselves younger. Children have nothin to do with it I can lie about my age if I want to I choice not to because I just don't want to it has nothing to do with my daughter nor my new baby for that matter.

It is a fact that when age is increasing beauty of girls are decreasing after about 20s. This botheration may be the cause behind the uneasiness to speak about age by many girls.

You're like my friend. He wanted to know the answer to the question that you are asking now, and since I am a woman, I can answer this question for you. Personally, I wish I was 21 again because I was younger and didn't have the lines or the marks that I have now. I think that most women, not all women, wish to be younger because that's when they had more confidence in themselves. That was when they felt that they were prettier and could attract more men, and that's when they felt that they could do anything, but the truth is that we can't all be young forever no matter how much we would like to be. As most women get older, many of them become less confident that they can get a man anymore, or that they can do the things that they did when they were younger.

I will reply laughing too. As you know, girls are more intelligent than boys. So they know that age , as beauty, depends on many things. Sometimes you wake up feeling 80 yearsold and the next day youl´ll feel you are a happy 10 year old girl. So, how can a girl answer about her age? She has as many ages as moods. How about this answer? By the way, I´m a 66 year younggirl.

I was teasing you when I said that girls are more intelligent than boys. It is an absurd statement as it is also absurd that all women will be offended if asked for her age. I do think though that this society is so interested in the outside that beauty and youth are made into important values. Pity! A proof of that are the beauty shows. And now I have seen on TV poor babies and children that are tortured into going to beauty contests by their own parents. Shame! Have a nice weekend!

makemoneonline ..It's a great question..and i think different women will have different answers. It also depends on where they are..lol among younger people one might fib about her age..among older people she might not..I don't know why...some who do not feel like telling when asked will say .."old enough"

I don't know, I guess because we don't like the fact that we are ageing after passing the late twenties. I respond to the question now but maybe I won't in a few years! Also, sometimes after this question others come like when are you going to get married, have children etc. and they might want to avoid all that. When I was younger I wasn't responding either and my response was "How much do you think?". This happened because I was expecting to hear that I look older, for example I was 18 and wanted to look 20. Probably every girl has her own reasons though. By the way, there is also another questions that I have been asked lots of times as well! "Why do girls go to the bathroom in pairs when they are outside?"

Why do girls go to the bathroom in pairs when they are outside? Probably they want to consult with each other how do they look. Just a hunch though. Women are so conscious of their appearance especially when they are outside. This is what I observe generally.

I think we go with our friends in the toilets for what you said JER616, we borrow each other's lipsticks, make our hair etc. Also because sometimes we want to gossip, there is no specific reason basically but I don't know why it makes boys curious about it!

For some reason, females tend to be a lot more sensitive about their age, when they are younger at least. When most of them get past about 50, they stop caring. I think that's because society standards in some cases do in fact write off women as old and worthless past a certain age and obviously there are times where there are expectations based upon certain ages. Not to say that men do not fudge their age from time to time. Of course, funnily enough, men feel the need to lie about their age when they pass fifty when women feel the need to do this a lot before fifty. It is really a strange little quirk to say the least. Of course, one must wonder if it is truthfully anyone's business but that is another discussion for a different time.

Sometimes girls feel that age is confidential thing, and they will have bad mood when someone asking about that but not all girls feel like that. lot of girls think that they want to know who they are not from age.

To be honest I don't know where that answer is comming from but in my country we also have (had?) it. I was always teached that it's not polite to ask a lady for her age. This also includes children. And still I see parents tell their children it's not polite to ask for age (or front name). I don't know if I am hiding (here or on an other site) my age but if so I probably hide most of my info. I don't think it's of anyone's (a stranger's) business to know everything about me. Also it's proved it's way safer not to put your whole life on the internet (it's abused too many times). I don't know if people laugh about your question, also don't think anyone in my country really makes a problem out of it if you ask them for their age. But what I wonder about is: does age matter to you if you like someone?

I don't think that ages is a matter its just a number. Most of us will be offended no matter how you will ask for it politely, there's a lot of reasons behind it and I guess it was actually laid in this discussion.
