We have a snow deficit! No snow and in Minnesota that is very unusual! In fact I am really bummed out as there is none in our forcast! My daughter is coming from California for a white Christmas!!!!! Do you suppose Santa will deliver a white Christmas for us? Do you have snow or are you used to not having a white Christmas?

We don't have any snow here in Wisconsin. The Northern part of Wisconsin has snow but, we don't. They say the week after Christmas it looks like we might get some. So hopefully your daughter will still be there.

It has been a strange winter so far. Well as of the 22 it will be considered winter. Usually we get a lot more coming down from Canada by now. There hasn't been a whole lot coming from the west cost either. So far the snow we have gotten a few weeks ago came up from New Mexico. With El Nina still out there, who knows what this winter will bring. Sure seems like the East coast has been getting hit alot.
Hopefully there will be at least a little snow when your daughter comes home for Christmas.

I don't know jill, it doesn't look promising here in Ohio either. I keep looking because the first day of Hanukkah is Tuesday, and I see rain and cold for the first few days. I had hoped that the second day would be at least dry if not a little warm because I got my son a bike and I hate for him to not be able to use it a little before the bad weather hits..

Looks like our chances are pretty slim here in Colorado, too. We've had a couple of good snows, but it's almost all gone now. We have a slight chance of snow twice between now and Christmas, but I'm not holding my breath. (Just keeping my fingers crossed!). I think our average is one white Christmas out of every three.
I was raised in Wyoming, where we almost always had a white Christmas, and it still doesn't seem like a real Christmas without snow.

I have not heard the complete forecast yet for the next week or so, but I have heard them only calling for rain here so far. I Love seeing White Christmas's but living here in Western WA I have been lucky if there is snow. But to think you in Minnesota have no Snow there yet does seem odd. I think everywhere lately is quite mixed up, and worries me to think what January and February might bring.

I'm going to pray we get a White Christmas over here as well. IT doesn't feel like Christmas without the snow, now does it? I mean, I'm not asking for 2 feet of snow, but a nice dusting would be pleasant. Just to put it into the wintry mood. I'm praying for the both of us! Put us on the nice list Santa, and bring us some snow!

It's been relatively warm so far this month in the midwest. Been raining all afternoon and evening so there won't be any snow here either. We usually get plenty of snow but not so sure about what's going to happen since I haven't seen a long range forecast. We will not be having a white Christmas. Enjoy the visit with your daughter.
Merry Christmas,
carolbee

That kind of does surprise me that Minnesota doesn't have snow right now. In Oklahoma we usually don't have a white Christmas, although not long after we usually do get snow. Some of Oklahoma has had a light dusting, but not where I live. And not currently.

No it is looking highly unlikely for snow in this part of the UK where I am living. Last year it was a complete white-out with heavy snow and lots of disruption. Whilst it looks very pretty when it is fresh, by the time Xmas day came nearly everybody wanted it to melt and go away. It is rare for us to have snow before January and there have been many winters in this southern part of the country, that we've had no snow at all. It often happens up on the Welsh hills that are about 30 miles away from where I live on the coast. It would be good perhaps if it would just snow on Xmas Eve and be all gone by Boxing Day.. _Derek

We don't have any snow either, and that is also unusual for us. I do not feel as if it is a week away from Christmas since there is no snow on the ground. I do hope we get some snow for Christmas!

I think Christmas always sneaks up on us. You always think you have 2 months or 1 month left.. but then you realize that's only 8 or 4 weeks away.. and only so many paychecks and still such a long list!
Finished off my shopping and wrapping today, so I am ready. Hubby isn't though, LOL.

We aren't supposed to have snow, but it is snowing now. I hope it doesn't lay and amount to anything. I know everyone wants a white Christmas, but I don't! I hate when it snows, I can't get out of my driveway and I am supposed to go to my mother's for Christmas dinner. I have difficulty getting into her house if it is snowing. I am disabled and have to use a walker on the grassy area. The walker doesn't work very well in grass, and in snow it doesn't work at all!

I remember a brown Christmas when I was young. I didn't seem to affect anyone around me. No other students, my parents, my older sister, news casters, no one but me! Then on Christmas Eve day.....One inch. just enough to say "White". The only thing it seemed to affect was my sledding!

Here in Alberta Canada by now we would be in a snow blizzard and a couple feet of snow by the end of October. Here we are December 16 and we don't have a fleck of snow anywhere. It's my daughters year to go to her hubby's for Christmas so I am very happy because they have a full days drive. Hope it stays good till they come home December 27. Merry Christmas!!!

hi jillhill in southern California? are y ou kidding lol? my son is 53 and it snowed for an hour when he was in kindergarten but I have not seen any thing like snow here since. but we are used to green
Christmases any way. we have flowering blooming and roses still in bloom. its been unusually cold for this time of year but no snow and a little rain and a lot of cold chilly winds lately. But I bet Christmas will see you with snow falling as Santa makes his entrance.
Maybe just in time for your California daughter to enjoy it as we see no snow here. lol

I´m in the middle of Summer here. I pity those poor fake Santas that wear clothes good for the North Pole and try to earn some coins in front of stores. I did have a white Christmas once, when I was 11 years old and our family went to the US as my father worked ther for a year and a half. It was in Wisconsin and there I learned about sonw, Christmas carols and pageants and sleds

I agree climatic changes have affected us too. In our town (Hyderabad India) this year we have hardly experienced any winter so far. Normally by mid of November, I start using sweaters. This year, I started using just two days ago. I am told weather forecast has been changed and that we will have summer around May and June rather than March and April. Let us see. In the meanwhile, we have not received much rains last year. There are ample power cuts. And so far, we are told, prospect of us receiving some in the next year are also bleak.

Well, if you want snow, I hope you get it and hope you keep it over there! So far no snow here and I am very happy about that fact!
