I love Feliz Navidad and other villancicos in Spanish as it´s my native language. In English, my favorite by far is Joy to the world. It has the same effect on me that Feliz Navidad has on you.

This is one of my least favorite songs, to tell you the truth. About 25 years ago, two boys in my Spanish class never failed to serenade me with that song, even long after the season was over. It just stuck with me and gives me bad memories of the time. My other least favorite song is by Paul McCartney--the chorus just keeps getting repeated over and over. And now I've got a weird combination of BOTH songs running through my head! :-0

Actually, I didn't dislike the song because of that, but during that year, the boy who sat next to me was killed in a horrific auto accident and it reminds me of how it tore our school apart. So it brings sad memories for me.
The song that Paul McCartney wrote is: "Wonderful Christmastime". Like most of his music, he repeats the chorus too much. Too me, that's the sign of someone who just can't be bothered to create the rest of the chorus. Here's the song from YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=162DZ7Sc7cc. Then try listening to John Lennon's song (sorry it's a cover but EMI has blocked the use of his voice in our country???) Happy Xmas (War is Over) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrIrPMGflIQ
I guess I'm a 'music snob'--the two previous men in my life were song writers and I learned the craft of song writing from them, even if I can't write one myself!

Happy Christmas is such a wonderful song--John Lennon was one of the best songwriters ever! You can definitely see how he was the stronger songwriter of the Lennon/McCartney duo. I love his melodies. This song has a touch of sadness to it, but Lennon's melody makes me smile too. I love this song too--every time it comes on, I MUST sing along!

There is something about this song that really connects with me to. It is very catchy and gets under the skin. Even more so when other join in! There is a lot of giggling afterward.

My favourite modern one is "Have Yourself a Marry Little Christmas.: Everytime I hear it I want to cry because of I think of Judy Garland thinking that she has to move to New York away from her boyfriend and never seeing him again.

The song is easy but talking Spanish is not easy at all it takes warts to learn. My dad is bilingoual bute and my brothers all just know English. My parents didn't want us to struggle like my dad did with two languages when we have learning disabilities.

I love to hear Christmas songs, it makes me really feel the season. Feliz Navidad is one that has something that makes us in the mood for Christmas. For me, I like the song 'Last Christmas' by George Michael. Odd, I know it's not all about Christmas it's a heartbreak song But I don't know I just loved it since I was a kid.

My country has been colonized by Spain so we do know Feliz Navidad and it is part of the regular Christmas carols that you can hear playing every year. Even small children (carolers) sing this song. But my all time favorite Christmas song is "Silent Night". I know it sounds melancholy but I feel the Christmas spirit more when I hear this song.

anne25penn..I live in California so I guess because of the Spaish influence I fortunately hear it a lot..especially in stores
I like Silent Night but I think I got a little tired of it...not nice to say I guess...but with all the years I sang it as a child and then my children sang it so many years... lol it just is not one of my fav...

I agree, this is a very happy song and reminds us that this is a celebration of life and to be thankful for that. I don't speak Spanish either.
