I usually dont get emotional while watching movies but today I dont know what happened to me. Was watching an Indian movie on television .. in fact the movie is still going on and not yet over ... and got so emotional that I started crying bitterly. So much so that I have ended up with a headache. I think I will now have to shut down the computer and take some rest till the headache goes away. Has this ever happened to you or am I the only emotional fool in this world.

I dont remember which was the last patriotic Bollywood film that made me sentimental. May be because I have not seen either Rang de Basanti or Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan se.

Indian movie huh? why am i not surprised? Well, i've watched some indian movie dramas as well, all of them made my cry. They made my tough dad cry too, can you believe that? I get emotional sometimes when watching movies. I cry also when i hear someone sing a song so well and meaningfully. Mind you, I wasn't always like this. Had a headache after crying all throughout watching HACHIKO.

Not all Indian movies make you emotional. And this was a movie that I have watched before. I do get a bit emotional at times but not like today. Today was extreme and that too for a movie that I have seen before.

I get so emotional that I end up crying and I also get a headache, this is why I am no longer a fan of movies. But will enjoy the old ones that I have already cried at and so am prepared and go out for popcorn during those scenes. Blessings PS I even cry at commercials on TV. I know it's dumb.

I dont know which commercials are there which would make one cry. Have not seen any. Or may be it is because I am always switching channels during the commercial break.

I got emotional when the movie is sad that will touch in my heart. That's natural for a women because most of girls are very sensitive especially when we can relate for those sad movies.

Yes women tend to be more emotional than men and tend to cry more easily. I think I was relating the story of the movie to my own life and got a little too emotional today. Not good getting so emotional.

For me it is but natural to experience the same emotion as with the characters in a movie. Having said that, I do shed a tear if the story is sad and laugh heartily if the scenes are downright funny. Whichever emotions I experienced vicariously after watching a movie, I am back to my old self feeling more relaxed, refreshed and happy.

Watching a comedy movie and feeling relaxed and fresh is fine. But watching an emotional movie and crying and ending up with a headache is not good at all!!!

As a therapist, I came across clients that had this reaction quite often. It is usually because something in the film has triggered a situation that the clients have identified with. I would always advise them that there is nothing wrong with crying, and holding back tears in such a situation is just suppressing them. It is usually when the person tries to hold is all in that headaches occur. I think we are all subject to having our emotions triggered in this way, but some of us, especially us men, would prefer not to admit to it. _Derek

It is sometimes nice to know that men too have their emotions. Otherwise they always try to behave that they have no feelings at all!!!. You are right in saying that something in the film triggered the situation. Suddenly thought of the past when I lost my husband and then later when the kids left home one by one. Crying too much caused the headache. Would not want to cry like this again.

Hello mayka123, No, you are not the only one. I was at one of my clients house the other day, cleaning, and her and one of her sons were sitting on the couch watching the junior hockey game, Canada won the bronze medal and when they won the son, who is 14 years old, started crying. I was a little surprised. He was crying happy tears. He loves hockey and has played it for many years and I thnk hoping it will be him one day on TV playing for canada. So his mom teased him a little and he came back with a statement that she was crying the other day when they went to the movie about the Horse, can't remember the name of the movie right now, and she reminded him that he and his brother were also crying. So I let them know that I am also a cryer. I even cry when I am watching a game show, like the price is right, and someone wins. I am so happy for them. So a lot of us are sentimental people and cry when we are happy and/or sad when watching shows. Cheers and TTYL my friend , Chris

aww, not so bad if it happens again. It isn't something to be embarrassed about but rather proud of because it shows you have emotions and arn't afraid to show them.

I dont think I will ever cry while watching any games. Not much of a sports person. But movies do sometimes make me emotional. But not so much. This kind of outburst happened just once and I hope it does not repeat again.

Sad movies always make me cry. So don't think you are the only one that gets emotional. And by the way, it's not only women that do this. I have seen my grown son cry while watching a particularly sad movie.

your wife must be a softhearted person. That is why she likes to cry whenever she see the sad part. Sometimes I watched Indian movies adn it always play with tears/sad scenes but fortunately I don't cry when I watched them but I know many will cry when they get to see the sad scenes. My sisters can easily cry when she see such scenes on tv.(^^)

Hi! Don't worry about being emotional as we all have movies or stories that get to us in one form or another. I know that I do. One time I was watching the new Black Beauty and I was crying in 5 minutes! What makes me angry is when people still do horrid things to animals and don't think anything of it. You're fine. :-)

Hi! I too, have a hard time with animal pictures and can only watch a few without completely falling apart. I never got into the Benji or Lassie films--just Black Stallion and Black Beauty and thats enough for this person. :-) What other films do you like? Be well!

Hello... I have cried many times while watching movies... The Indian movies are mix of emotions, which can stir me up easily... A few times, I remember that the accompanying ladies had to console me... And once, when I watched 'Taare zameen par' all alone, I remember a strange lady had put in a few kind words because I couldn't stop crying at the situation of the kid in the movie... There's nothing wrong in it, I believe..

I had a few tears when I watched Taare Zameen Par. It was a very emotional well made movie. But I have never sobbed so much as I did yesterday. I think sometimes emotions tend to get out of control.

I run through the whole gamut of emotions while watching movies depending on their theme.Movies arouse in us different feelings depending on the storyline.I do get emotional but rarely end up with a headache. There are plenty of people who are emotional only some more than the others.

Getting a little emotional while watching a movie is an accepted thing for us. But crying so bitterly that I end up with a headache was not at all right. I dont think I should have got so emotional while watching a movie that I have seen before.

Yes, I do get so emotional while watching movies. I admit that Indian movies often make so emotional and intense while I am watching them. I didn't know, May be, I am too sensitive. I like watching movie. I tried to avoid watching movie which present many emotional scene and action. I am fond of watching Hollywood movies, they have great action and messages which they are going to deliver is fantastic. I like watching them so much.

Most of us do get a bit emotional while watching a movie. But what happened to me yesterday was that I ended up crying bitterly and landed with a severe pain in the throat and a bad headache. This is the first time something like this happened to me. Hope I dont repeat the act again. I too like watching Hollywood flicks and do watch whenever I get the chance.

I dont think there is anything wrong. I think its normal to be emotional about films. It shows the film is really interesting and that there is a lot of morals to be learned from it. When you said its an Indian film, its not surprising because most of their films are mostly emotional. I also love watching there films and sometimes, i also cry so i guess there is nothing wrong with being a little emotional..

Yes it is normal getting a little emotional while watching movies. And many Indian movies are a little emotional. But I was sobbing so bitterly that I had a headache for the rest of the day and throat started paining and the pain has not yet gone. That is too much crying.

My classmate cried so hard which made me cries too. hehe. It is really fun watching people crying because of a movie. Have a nice day mylotting.

When a group is watching a movie if one person starts to cry then the others too feel like crying. I think that is natural.
