Is it possible? I am not tech savvy. I don't know if there's a way to connect my netbook so that my parents can see a bigger screen while viewing my nephew's pictures in Facebook. Any help would be really appreciated.

Your netbook may have a yellow composite 'video out' jack also. If you have an older Sharp tv you might have a composite in jack. It's the yellow jack on your tv right next to the white and red jacks that are used to plug in a video game console. Sometimes they are on the front of your tv hidden beneath a swing up panel door. Sometimes they are on the back below the cable connection. If you do have this connection on your netbook you will probably also have a program that controls your video card that starts when your operating system starts. You will probably have to turn on video out with this program.

Hello, LifeOngoing! What a very nice username! I am familiar with the yellow composite video out jack, but I am not aware about it's use. Yes. Our TV has three jacks. You are correct. They are yellow, red, and white. The problem is there is no jack like that in my netbook. I really appreciate your help. Thank you very much!

Your netbook may have a vga jack or hdmi output as previously mentioned. The problem is that your tv 'an older model sharp' is unlikely to have an hdmi connection. Unless your tv shows HD video it won't have an HDMI jack. Maybe try this from another angle. Do you have a dvd player? If you do does it have a usb jack on it? A lot of dvd players allow you to view pictures from a usb flash drive placed in the usb jack. Your cd burning program (if they've included it) on your netbook probably burns to the photocd format. You would have to download the pictures to a folder on your netbook, depending on the amount it might be very easy and not too time-consuming. The other option would be to buy a vga to ntsc converter. These are 20 to 40 dollars at any store like walmart. This is assuming you're in the US. You might not be willing to spend that for a one-time thing. If this is an ongoing thing though you might want to consider it. But still check your dvd player. It may even play burned cd's and dvd's in the photocd format. This is assuming you have access to a cd or dvd burner.

if you have a HDMI or High-Definition Multimedia Interface port then it is possible... it's like a usb port but smaller and your tv should have a HDMI port too for it won't work... most new flat screen tvs like sony bravia has this...
