Jesus says He is "the Light of the world" (John 8:12). But He also says, His followers are lights in the world. They bring the light of God's truth into a world dark with ignorance and sin. Jesus says Christians must not hide their light. Do you?

The light, as used here, meant a lot. Christians are the solution to the world, the beauty of the world, the expression of God, something that cannot be hidden, the Truth that cannot be covered, the power to dispel the evil from the enemy, the good and perfect from God, the righteous justice, ....
All these attributes add up to define the glorious Light God has given us to use, shine with and direct the world with.

In Philippians 4:8-9 the light is whatsoever things are true, honest, just, pure, lovely,of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise think on these things. Those things, which you have learned, received, aand heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace will be with you. This is the life Christ wants for us.

While Jesus was on earth, He was the Light but when He ascended, He gave the power to us all. But what is the intensity of the light in us today? We are the light of the world but the world seems to be comprehending the light somehow - we have allowed the things we see to overshadow the light in us such that we confess darkness instead of light.
