enforced to start own business

I am not sure about other countries but people tend to start own business once they get retrenchment from their company in my country. After failed to search new job then they start own business from scratch, this can be hard for someone who just start business and perhaps will not be long lasting. I knew sometimes when we get enforced and in difficult time then we start to think creatively otherwise they will follow pattern of other business model. The easiest one to start is food business, they open small cafe or restaurant with capital from retrenchment money. If they able to pass through difficult situation,maybe they will get success..What do you think? How to start business in those difficult time?
