Hello mylotters,
My brother is looking for a PC for his kids and he asked me to find good deals for him. While I have seen a few quotations, I am still unsure to decide whether to select a PC with AMD sempron processor at a slightly lower cost or select one with Intel celeron. All other feature are almost the same.

Hi nayaz, I would go for AMD but that's my personal choice, AMD have always been looked on as cheap and cheerful but they perform really well for their price.
For instance, talking of single core, £28 would buy a sempron 140 at 2.7 gigs, You can't buy a celeron for that price and the cheapest is a 2 gig one.
also any new AMD motherboard should be socket AM2+ or AM3 which means that later on You can drop a higher spec multi core AMD cpu in there at little cost.

AmD processor is much bether than Intel Celeron, Intel Pentium is ok but celeron is really bad... amd is a little more expensive but it a lot better.
if i could chose i would surely choose amd, celeron is trash...
