I have spent one month without television because my house being renovated and no space for my TV in the room. So we live without TV almost about one month, it's hard at first but after a while that becomes no big issue. Lucky I have never addicted to any TV series lately so I am not to bother about watching TV. However, I miss my football channel a lot, so sometimes I turn to my computer looking for streaming online channel and watching over the internet. I know the quality of the network was really poor with so many buffering but still able to satisfy my need..Now, I am back to normal since the house renovation has over and I can turn on television again..
How about you? Can you live without Television?Have you ever experienced same thing?

I often have my TV on just as background noise when I'm doing something else. I'm pretty addicted to TV with soaps, reality shows and comedy. Anything that you can;t get in the UK I will watch online and I stay up to date with American series by watching them online before they are broadcast over here.
Having said that I won't throw a strop or anything if I miss out on a show as I know I can catch up online. I probably watch more TV on the internet than on the TV itself!

Well, appreciate your fast response.. I agree with you, online or internet TV maybe will play important roles and change our watching television habit in the future. I observed this way, will let us choose many options

Most programs you can watch online now, but I still prefer TV. The most I've gone without TV has been a couple of days. I guess I could live without TV if I had to, but the truth is I hope I never have to....LOL There are a few TV series that I really like watching & of these few I almost never miss an episode, so if I were to miss any then yes I would be upset.

well, appreciate your fast response.. I agree with you that we can watch anything online now.. So we don't stick to the schedule of television channel like our favorite movies series then we can watch it anytime..However, sometimes we missed opportunities to talk about it with our friends, they sometimes update the status on facebook right after watch the series..so we will miss that..

I have not had a lot of TV, only DVD and cassette, until less the last month or so. Then I got Roku, which is streaming TV. I can't believe how much standard TV I used to watch when I had standard cable. In retrospect, I can't imagine why?

I enjoy watching televison. i am not sure i would be one that could an eintire month without it. I love to watch so many different programs on television. It would be a shame and a heartbreak to be denied my television even for so short a time.

Hi omchesunche, I have gone without television but not any where
to that length of time...We have had several blackout in this area
over the time but only for a few hours...But as long as I have
access to the computer. life would be beautiful...as long as its
something to listen to even if the reception was bad...
We get so connected to THINGS in our loves that we take for granted
that once interupted we feel like HUH....all discombobulated...LOL
I know you are happy that you are able to get back to your sports..
They are important to those of us who enjoy them..
Have a great holiday.....

I don't own a TV so I don't miss it. This was not so a few years ago, I was addicted to at least 4 hours of watching TV. Then one day for religious reasons, I had o go in isolation for a few days and am not ashamed to tell you I couldn't concentrate on the rituals. I came away a very sad man, disgusted with myself and swore TV would not dominate me again. If I get a chance, I do watch the television, but for a very limited time. Yes it is no big deal.

yes, I've been without tv a few times already, sometimes cause it broke down at times and we didnt have cash to reapair it atm, but I dodn't really miss it as I rarely watch tv AT ALL for the past few years. I mostly download tv shows and stuff and watch it all on my laptop. however with tv being turned off it's kind of a weird feeling, cause there's that strange silence you're not used to, so I'm more than watching it used on other family members having it on all time and watching it.

I do not really watch TV that much, but I spend hours in the computer. I guess it would be alright for me to go on for days without the TV set. I just can not stand the absence of the computer, as I draw my strength here in the internet, specially my work is mostly here in the internet.

It's not that hard 'giving up' on watching tv once in a while or for a certain period of time. Hey, we can live without tvs...or even without any techs. There's so many other things we can do beside watching tv...like reading and thinking and praying...hmmm don't you think so?

my dear friend,
you are lucky that you are without a TV for only just a month, i think if you were me you will be crazy. since i have started work last year all those time are passed without TV. all i have is just a computer.
before i like to watch TV for news, sport, funnly TV program... to be frankly i really want to buy a TV, but i cannot, because my job is unstable and alway moving, it is inconvinient to move with a TV.
I like watching TV, i will buy a TV once i am stable.

I honestly couldn't live without television, as its on several days a week. There are certainly shows that are so entertaining that I don't miss them. Some I could just watch on my computer, but others I want to sit down with a cup of coffee to see on the big screen. Also realize I could just go to a place to eat and watch the screen there if the Oregon Ducks are playing a local team.

more than a month we spent with out a television and there was not a need for it also,we used to read newspapers for any news and the radio was there for entertainment.Television should be used in a proper way with times spent in front of a tv we can do some other good works which are either good for us or for others. It is same as online. When we use online in a proper way means for knowledge acquiring we are utilising our time and resources,if we are chatting and not doing anything then its just wasting our time and resources. Many watch tv just not to feel bored or somewhat like being alone there is somethingelse to talk and we can know information just as if we are having frineds always with us.So many channels and programmes, there is lot of information we can get if we use television in a good way.

Hi omchesunche, I have absolutely no problems going without television for a prolonged period as I usually switched on the TV for watching news. Nowadays one can get breaking news on one's mobile phone or tablet pc or whatever. If your broadband speed is slow you will inevitably get 'buffering' delays and your viewing experience will be compromised. So you should switched to a higher broadband speed subscription - I think 10 Mbps or above should suffice. Have a nice day.

Television offers entertainment and fun. It sometimes helps relieve stress. I love to watch reality shows, news, anime movies, and many more.
If ever I will banned for watching movie for one month, I think I cannot do it. I am really attached on watching television because I had learned a lot through it. Thirty days of no television means thirty days of no additional learning for me. I am updated in the news through the television. It is my stress reliever. I kill the time also by watching television. I will be very sad without television.

Television provides a variety of information, entertainment and more. if in one or two days without television might still be overcome, but within a month seems very difficult to pass. if you look at television channels over the internet - surely will incur additional costs.
