Ebay or Etsy

I am thinking about selling some jewellery online and would appreciate advice as to the best place to sell it. I would be interested to hear opinions about ebay and etsy and which might be the most successful place to try selling.

I tried selling on eBay before and it was pretty great. The positive and negative thing about it is the same thing, there are lots of people using it. It is a positive because more people means more market to sell your products to. It is also negative because there are lots of trolls who just bid and buy things without the real intent of buying it. The bad thing about that is the person who really wants it gets out-bidden and that person might look for something else hence you will loss customers. I never tried selling on etsy but I bought a couple of shoes and clothes there. There are not that much people using it. not much traffic as eBay but there are more legitimate buyers there. If I were you, I would post in both sites. There is really no harm with it. And if you use eBay, make sure to use the proper description on your products. Good Luck!

Speaking from experience sell it on Etsy. Etsy is a community of people that sell and buy handmade items. You have have your own clear shop in which you can list items in different sections, you can join "teams" where you can find people who may be interested in what you are selling and people can favourite your items and shop. People on Etsy will be willing to pay a reasonable price for what you are selling and for the amount of effort that you have put into it. People on Ebay are looking for a bargain, they will skip over your items unless it has a starting price of $0.99 the majority of people on Ebay will not appreciate handmade items and they will send you stupid emails... Where on Etsy you get emails from people asking for custom items! I sell on Etsy and I've only had my shop open a few months but I've has a fair few transactions. Compared to the past when I've sold on Ebay, Etsy is like a dream. Seriously I couldn't stress more at which is the better option! If you are interested my shop is here http://www.etsy.com/shop/OverDramaticDesigns?ref=si_shop and feel free to message me via Etsy if you have any questions on how it works
