I had a motorcycle accident last year and it broke my right hand. The doctor put in a platinum there. Now, I am going to have a surgery to take the platinum out of my hand. I feel afraid to do it. Have you done a surgery before? What will you do to loose your worried to do surgery? Thanks for sharing. Have a nice day

I had my Total Abdominal Histerectomy 13 years ago. I was injected on my spinal for the anesthesia. Yet, when i had the surgery, i wasn't afraid at all. It was the first time i was hospitalized and it was for a surgery. Nowadays, surgeries being done, even the open heart surgery of my father-in-law can easily be done by experts. And they can make it so painless at all. The pain will come later, when the morphine wears off . So don't be afraid my friend.

You have nothing to worry about, since doctors know what they are doing and they have special training for that. You should be excited about is that your right hand is healing and in order to complete its healing process, they must take out the metallic plate so that there will be no delay in wound healing or else it might cause unexpected infection.

That is why, if you worry about taking it out. Maybe requesting your surgeon in giving you to put to sleep and a laughing gas or nitrous oxide before surgery. If your doctor agreed about it, then nothing to worry about. A little pain you felt turns a tickle sensation with that i think to the laughing gas effect.

It's okay to be afraid, it is normal, but do you have to have it out? Does your doctor recommend it? If your doctor says that you should have it out, then you might want to have it out.

Any kind of surgery can be a serious consideration. It can often be a fearful time in someoine's life. I believe that a huge part of that fear is the uncertAainty of the outcome. It's often not knowing what will happen that causes us to worry the most. Take everything into consideration for your upcoing surgery and don't lose heart.

I think it is not hurting but fun. You must take surgery out the stuff from your hand. I never have surgery but I know it won't any hurt to your body because the doctor will inject the hurt area where you will not feel hurt when he or she cut your flesh meat. No worries and everything will be just fine. Okay

I am sorry to hear that. I had operation twice before, but I haven't such kind of operation yet. I think all you can do is try to relax yourself. After all, you have to rely on the doctor and co-operate with them. After the surgery, have a good rest. You can watch TV or books when you stay in the hospital. I love China

Hi Areskya, I had a day surgery this year to remove a lump. Actually I was more worried about the pain that would come after the surgery rather than the surgery itself. In the end, I was so glad for it, since there is no pain at all. Only when I took shower, then I felt the inconvenience, since I dared not have a drop of water on the raw wound. The painkiller was strong, and yet did not make me feel sleepy. I could still go out with a friend after taking the painkiller. I think you can rest assure that you will get good treatment and medicine to help you cope with pain too.

The surgery process is not so painful, after having surgery I feel so pain on the wound cos I haven't given the painkiller medicine, the next three hours later I swallow it and feel better. What kind of lump do you have? Is it so dangerous?

I believe that I am very lucky because I never really had a surgery done to me. My sister had one though. She sprained her ankle and it was worst that we initially thought. She could not walk for weeks and had to use crutches everywhere. It limited the place she can go. I think you should push through with the surgery. Just think about it as the last time. Would you really want a platinum inside your hand forever? Think about the fact that maybe you will hurt less if it is taken out. Goodluck on your surgery.

Thanks, tessa. I had taken that step, now is the recovery phase. But I still can't go anywhere now without someone who pick me up, ummm, I become so much dependent. You are so lucky for being health as that

hello, I never got surgery. I am also afraid of it but if it is for your own good why not? right? You just have to sleep and then after a while you will feel better. You dont have to be afraid it is alright? If you dont want to put the platinum there in your hand maybe there is more bad effect. So, it is much better to leave it to the doctor. They are professional. And of course pray for it.

Yes I've had two surgeries done before, both were preformed on my leg. I wont say it will be easy. There will be some pain & as with any surgery there is always some risk, but you have to keep in mind that these Doctors know what they're doing & that they will take really good care of you. There will be pain afterward, but they have pain medication for that & believe me that really will help. Before you know it it will all be over. Just say a prayer for God to watch over you & to keep you safe & have faith that He will.

I was once about to undergo an appendectomy. I was so scared i was shivering like an earthquake. Good thing the operation was deemed unnecessary. God is great.

you are so lucky cos don't have to face it. What do they do at that time to replace the appendectomy? Do feel so much pain at that time or not?

Whew! Its been a year now that I had done surgery cased by a motor accident. It was called -- close knee fractured. It was terribly bad seeing those steel being planted directly to my bone. Doctor said, since it was external it would be out 3 months after..so then, by God's faith i was able to survived from it. Now, I can walk as normal shortly but I cannot do hiking activities, also jogging/running of course! But then again,,I thank God for saving me and still be to live and be w/ my family/.

My girlfriend who did a surgery to treat her appendicitis a few days ago, was very afraid and worry about the surgery before she was brought to the operation room. She was crying over and over again no matter how I comfort her. She also called her relatives and family one by one and cried when she talked to each person. After the surgery, she realized that it was not as scary and painful as she thought it was. Because she was unconscious during the surgery so she wouldn't experience all the pain. Now she is recovering and I hope it would be fine.

Everyone gets nervous when he is advised any surgical interference. So it is nothing unnatural. Have faith in God and the doctor.
