Our country is in turmoil. The executive branch of the country is disrespecting the judiciary in every sense of the word.

In my opinion, it's not disrespecting the judiciary, when the executive branch impeached Corona. They are just trying to correct Corona, who was an obvious ally of CGMA, on his previous malpractices if they can be called so, But i think, there are other members of the judiciary who are also allies of CGMA, and that should be given an attention too. I just hope that Corona, could really be put in his proper place and be taught a lesson too.

Nevertheless, the president was not supposed to insult the chief justice in a conference wherein they themselves invited Corona too.

At least, PNoy is not plastic to hide his ill feelings about Corona. He wants Corona to hear it himself what he has to say about him, rather than hearing it from others, where there could be a "dagdag-bawas". AT least, Corona too, showed his true colors, that of a man really clinging to his power despite the obvious disgust of people to him.

I would like to disagree. From what I have seen on TV and read in the papers, the executive branch is just doing its job. When the president has alluded to the unconstitutional appointment of Corona during his speech (with Corona just a few seats away), he was just citing a fact. It was nothing personal. Corona should had the delicadeza by not accepting the post when it was offered to him by Arroyo.

What you m ight be trying to say is that Corona should have the delicadeza to step down when it was Pnoy's time to lead the country.

I agree with you on that point. Delicadeza should have applied when the offer was made. Now, since he accepted the offer, he should have resigned from his post knowing that his appointment was unconstitutional.

Well I guess at some point I could also feel the disrespect of the executive with Judiciary is because they have had a bad choice of a leader that is so obvious who is leaning towards the previous administration. I think if you would see how they decide on things that are favorable with the Arroyo's. They are simply CGMA's agents hiding in their robes. Seeing this kind of an attitude would you think they can still be respected as Supreme Judges of our nation.

Partly true. Nevertheless, the president should never have humiliated the Chief Justice. It was an act not worthy of being done by a president. Disgust towards the actions of the Chief Justice should be dealt in the proper manner and not by the way our president did.

I think its the other way around, and the entire judiciary should not even be used by Renato Corona to cover up his anomalous activities. Corona should start to learn he disrespected the Filipino people's intelligence when he whines about dictatorship when in fact it's the various irregular transactions within the SC involving Gloria Arroyo, Corona and others that smacks of shameless disregard to the rule of law.

I am not on the side of either the executive or judiciary branch of the government. In my own opinion, that is a respectful act. Judiciary is a different branch of government. Executive branch should not interfere with the decisions of judiciary. There should be equal or balance of power. There should be justice.

It was a wrong move and the same time, a disrespectful act because he did not respect the authority and power of the judiciary. If this incident continually happens, then it means that the president will also control the judiciary in the future? As a youth, I am threatened with this issue because I believe that we will be the one that will be affected by it.
