OMG.. I use to have a toothache so bad it felt like someone was actually hitting me in the front of my mouth with a hammer with full force...I use to spend many nights propped up on my bed becasue if I laid down, my tooth would ache like no tomorrow..Then after a while the ache would disappear and nothing...THe strange thing was I could feel it coming on... But Thanks to God that dosen't happen anymore...I think at this age if it happens again I would literally go crazy...It was a terrible feeling...

Toothache is really a very terrible pain to endure. Whe it hurts, you head also aches and it's like there's someone drilling into it. I had it always when i was a kid. At the age of 12 i already had partial dentures. Yearly, i would change denture, because every year another tooth would get damaged and extracted. Until i reached college, when i decided to have full dentures, up and down. Now i have dentures and i never have any toothache anymore.

Hi SIMPLYD, Yes I agree that pain from a toothache can be excruciating. Anyone who has ever experienced a really bad toothache can testify to the lingering and agonizing pain. This is a terrible feeling. Somehow the nerve endings around the teeth are super sensitive to pain. If you can live with a set of full set of dentures - good for you. You can say goodbye to toothaches forever! However, some people just cannot get used to dentures. So for these people my advice would be: Take good care of your teeth with daily brushing, flossing and regular checkups at the dentist. Also find out and avoid the sort of food and drinks that can erode your teeth and cause problems. Have a nice day!

Yes, my friend, nothing can compare to a full set of natural teeth. Although i am so comfortable eating with my dentures, i choose what i eat and how i eat. I cannot just eat those corn on the cob because i fear that it would break one or two of my denture. I cannot chew a bubble gum, because they would surely stick on my denture. So, i would always warn my daughter to take care of her teeth, lest she will be like me when it comes to the teeth.

The worst toothache I ever had resulted in loss of sleep, and the need to find a new dentist the next day. Been happy with the new guy ever since.

I would agree. Any kind of infection in the head (ear, sinus) can allow infection to spread to the brain. Very dangerous. I suppose an infected tooth could do the same.

Oh yeah I've had toothaches like that. I would cry sometimes because the pain was so bad. Now I hate going to the dentist for as long as possible sometimes, but the last time I had a toothache that bad I immediately made an appointment with my Dentist for the first spot they had open.

You didn't went to see a dentist? You definitely should have gone to a dentist to check the reason of this toothache. Actually, I'm having a terrible toothache that is getting worse since a piece of my tooth fell, at first it didn't bothered me, but now I can't even eat on that side because it hurts so bad. I'm going to a dentist on tuesday, because the last time that this happen it was a serious problem. Maybe you should do the same.

This summer a quarter of one of my teeth broke off whilst I was eating my dinner. I was happy that it was the back upper tooth and not another tooth. I didn't see my dentist because I am scared of him. This autumn that same tooth gave me very severe tooth pain. It felt like a hammer was going through my mouth. In the night I had to sit up and place my tongue in the hole where my tooth was broken. I decided to find another dentist that could tell me what the problem was with my tooth. He told me I needed the tooth to be taken out or route canal work done on that tooth. He said I had an infection so gave me medicine. I found a lovely dentist to take my bad tooth out. I will be happy to see him again. I don't have tooth pain anymore.

I have suffered too many times to count where toothaches are concerned and though you are not in pain now, I suggest you find a dentist as soon as possible. Because I had also had pain and it went away off and on for years. If I had gone to the dentist sooner, all I would had needed was a filling, but once I got to the dentist, it turned into a root canal/crown which is not only more painful, but much more expensive. Right now I have a tooth I had a root canal on, but I didn't have enough money for a crown, so the dentist filled it and said when I can I need to get a crown. I was going to wait until after the holidays, but last week I could tell, it got infected. So now I have to get the infection cleared up so he can proceed with a crown to protect my tooth.

I do have my share of tootaches and it is really painful indeed. But gladly that was long ago. I have never experience any tootache for the last 10 years. Maybe because I have taken care of my teeth well enough that I do not have any tooth decay. I also do not have any false teeth.

Have you ever had a toothache? OMG is right. I have very bad teeth. I think we have 28 adult teeth (minus the wisdom teeth). I come from a family who never learned how to take care of their teeth. And we didn't have programs in school when i was young. I know have 12 teeth. i would like to get the rest extracted and dentures made but I don't have the money. So I put up with toothaches and infections. What do you do when you are a senior and have no insurance for such things? Cloves is supposed to help with toothaches.

A couple of times in the past. Thankfully it really is nothing that was too serious at the time as I feared. Of course, it is a good idea to get it checked out just in case that it might be, in case there might be some kind of infection in your mouth that is causing the pain and it could spread. It's not the only possibility but you never do in fact know. The thing about aches and pains is that a lot of the time they come and go. Now however we must wonder if the aches and pains are really gone. Or if we have just trained ourselves to be used to the pain. Where we are getting to the point where we are shutting it right out and there is still a problem. I know there are many people who do that as well.

Yeah, last week I had a series of toothache. For me, toothache is the worst physical pain. That's because when a single tooth pains me, I won't be able to do tasks properly without it bothering me, unlike wounds and muscle pains which I can just ignore. I only have this decayed tooth. But when it aches, I feel like a lighting bolt is hitting it deep inside. I'd like to visit my dentist at that time but she was in a Christmas vacation. The pain starts when I drink water. That was why when I am drinking water, I turn my head so that it won't touch my decayed tooth.

I know I have advanced gum disease but I refuse to go for treatment. Not too long ago, I developed a toothache which was pretty mild, but didn't stop. I finally realized that the tooth was infected. I used Anbesol gel and aspirin for the pain. I flossed every day and brushed with Sensodyne three times a day. I also rinsed my mouth thorougly with a strong mouthwash. It took a long time, but the infection cleared up.

I bet everyone did have toothache. I had a terrible toothache I guess when I was about 13 years old? at that time my mouth got swollen real big as if someone has hit me countless times with something real hard and heavy. I tried everything I could to make it less painful and swollen but it took me like two weeks to recover completely. It was a nightmare. fortunately it's all over now. ^^

Yes, i have experienced toothache. It is really terrible. Though sometimes toothache is not a big problem, but when it is severe, the pain can kill one person. Well, therefore, we should take good care of our teeth, when there is a hole in one tooth, we should try to fix it as soon as possible.

toothache are the worst despite physical injuries. Toothache makes it more worse when you want to remove a tooth or else when its affected with worms . I was suffering from toothache when i was a child, i used to eat lot of chocolates which made my teeth more worse. That feeling of toothache was my worst feeling i ever suffered finally as i started growing up i cut down my intake of chocolates and no sooner than my infected teeths also felt down and new came up. I wish no one ever gets into the problem of toothache.

unfortunately, I do not have toothache till now. The reason may be that I brush my teeth 3 times daily, Morning , afternoon and night.

Now I don't have toothache. When I was young I had several toothaches. Maybe it is because of the food I eat during my childhood.

Toothache is a severe annoyance. I consulted a doctor two years ago and he removed my one teeth which brought all the troubles. He wanted me to clean tooth before getting sleep in night. Now there isn't no toothache for me.

You should still go to your dentist, tell the dentist about your toothache and this excruciating pain you felt. Some dentist asks you to have an dental x-ray to see your affected tooth what is happening inside and what will be the cause of your toothache. Be aware, even the pain is already gone you might feel worse later on if you just ignore your tooth and have not go to your dentist.
