Well, countries celebrates Christmas through different ways. In the Philippines, Christmas celebration is becoming more lavish, from the decorations to the foods served on Christmas Day and even on the New Year. In fact two months before Christmas, you could see lots of people doing shopping and malls compete in decorations and Pre-Christmas activities to attract more shoppers. That is why i think the true meaning of Christmas has become forgotten already. People tend to think of Christmas as a celebration for those who have money only but not for the poor. The true meaning of Christmas really is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ and even though we don't have money we can celebrate it by offering prayers and thanksgiving to Him.

You are right stowyk, little kids believe that Christmas is the time when their Godfathers and Godmothers will give them gift and sad to say even their parents don't know the real reason why there are godparents. Nowadays, parents invite more godparents for their kids so that they can have more gifts especially cash gifts. They look into baptism as some sort of business. When this children grows a little older they would expect that these grandparents of them will give them money and gifts. They don't understand that godparents responsibilities does not come only during Christmas day but all trough their life.

That sounds very exciting! I never thought Chinese will celebrate Christmas with a lot of joy. I will certainly go to china for Christmas, I am very curious and want to have fun, like you guys do. Over here in the US people celebrate it differently depending what your traditions and cultures does, During Christmas it's all about family time, food, and having a great time.

For every country, Christmas is celebrated in their own way. It also depends on their religions actually. Some religions do not celebrate Christmas, because they said the date wasn't specified in the bible as to what date it was that Jesus was born. But no matter what, us Flipinos who are Christians really celebrate Christmas with enthusiasm. We go to church, eat prepared foods, and have reunions of relatives on Christmas. It's indeed a day of family merriment.
