What is in North Korea's future now that Kim Jong is dead?

As we all know the North Korean people were as terrified of Jong as the Iraqi people were of Saddam. Should the United States jump in and intervene before a new regime headed by Jong's son has a chance to take control? What about North Korea's nuclear capabilities?
