If a total stranger walked up to you with mistletoe in hand and held it over your head...Asked for kiss on the cheek what would your reaction be...Would you kiss them or let them kiss you on the cheek...or just look at them like they were stone crazy and walk away? I mean a clean looking person not a vagabond.. I doubt it they would ever have a piece of mistletoe...but you never know.....

I'm a big guy. I'm large enough that some people feel intimidated, which is sad, because I'm really a nice guy too. I don't think that would happen to me, but if it did I'm pretty sure my wife wouldn't approve :-), so no. Also, kissing to me is intimate. It is a very personal act. You don't kiss someone, even on the cheek, without implying something emotional. I'm pretty sure a normal stranger wouldn't know you well enough to have an emotional attachment. If he or she did I would be thinking stalker. Either way, oh no, not even tempted.

Well it goes to show different strokes for different folks... I would not equate a kiss on the cheek with emotions or intimacy or any other attachment. It is not a personal act to me and its very often a form of greeting people and for me its certainly without emotions of intimscy,,sometimes its just a form of greeting..So I totally disagree with you ,people do kiss others on the cheek without implying an emotional attachment..My mate sigificant other has more important things to worry about because he know our relationship is solid...I am not worrying about a stalker and neither is he.. But thats what makes the world go round...Everyone of us has an opinion and can definately speak/give it.. Thanks for responding and have a wonderful holiday....

This is exactly why I phrased my reply in such a way that you knew it was my own personal opinion. I took this as a discussion and offered my own point of view. I did not say that anyone else's belief is wrong. I've had experience with a lot of cultures where kissing on the cheek means nothing other than, Hi, nice to see you. My own culture and upbringing treats it as something more. I don't say that everyone should feel as I do. However, since we're talking about my cheek I feel I have the right to not have it imprinted by unknown lips. :-)

What a nice thought stary,I don't see anything wrong with a kiss on the cheek I am not talking a juicy kiss on the lip.. Obviously SOME married people have more of a reason to say no...I guess..But if you are at a New Years Party and that what normally happens at 12:00 Midnight.. sure I would accept a kiss on the cheek... Way to go....

i don't. hehe mistletoes or putting up one is not very common here in the Philippines. So not many people would be reacting to it here in the country. =)

A piece of mistletoe huh? I doubt that this would ever happen.I might let them kiss me on the cheek. But mostly i would look at them like they were stone crazy and walk away. You never know. It isn't necessarily how I react to mistletoe as how I react to the person with the mistletoe.

I would probably give this crazy person a look that would make them sane and walk a way. First warning!! I see this happening at a New Years Party too when people are under the influence. I still won't be getting drunk enough to feel that comfortable with a total stanger.
