Do you you answer the knock on the door or not?

I just had two men knock on my door. I don't know who they were. I unfortunately covered up my peep hole with my Christmas wreath earlier in the week after my plastic wreath hanger broke and I had to use a nail on the door to hang it. I walked over to the door and then thought better of even trying to get a glimpse of who it was through the blinds as I was in my night clothes and did not want them to see me. I did not answer the door. When people knock on your door do you answer the door or not? Are there some people you answer the door for and others that you will not? How do you decide?
