If you like one song, doesn't mean you'll like all the songs of the artist...

That has happened to me a lot of times, and there are even times that i
only like on or 2 songs from that artist. it is really sad since when i hear an artist and I lie that song very much I immediately look him or her up and listen to the other songs... but then none of them are as good as the one I heard.

Yes, it's true. Not all songs of our favorite singers make it to the top music charts.Well, I guess if one of their song make it big which we do like, the singer or the songwriter would make other songs a bit different from the one that got them famous. Maybe the idea is to introduce to their fans different forte of music/song and took the risk if the fans would appreciate it, because if they will make songs that is almost the same like for example the tunes, their fans will lost interest on them.

It's true, if they make music with the same tempo their fans would get tired of listening to it. So they gamble with different tunes for their music while they are still hot.I've heard a song of Jessie and I find it good too, I guess I'll listen to her other songs and decide for myself. Thanks

I also experienced that one. I bought an album of an artist because I heard his song always played on the radio and then I found out that only few of his songs are good.

Yeah! it's just a waste of money, I'll never do that again and you're right, I need to do some research about the artist before buying his album.

It does Happen..Some songs from an artist or band grab you,and others just don't...I recall Dire Straits getting their first hit with "Sultans of Swing",then following it up with "Lady Writer" which got criticised for being too "Samey" with it's predecessor..they seemed to do ok in their career after that!

I agree with you, friend, even with my favorite artists. But in part I´m aware that it is because I associate some of the songs with special moments of my life. It happens to me with all kinds of music, be it pop or classical. Have a lovely day!

Classical music brings me my childhood memories with my father and some pop music from the time I was a teen bring the magic of youth. Now I am more into ethnic and folk music because I´m interested in other countries.

It is usual thing. Some artist must have their famous song and their song can't be the some style. The all song of artist can't express the same meaning. So we are not sure that we will like the all song of the artist.

I have experienced that many times. I borrow cds at my local library and if I have heard a great song on the radio I become interested in the singer/the band and I look for their cds in the library. I return to my home and listen to the cds and sometimes I get disappointed, because it turns out that there is only one great song on the cd and that is the song that I already know from the radio. Sometimes the song that I like is very different from the rest of cd, and I get very surpriced and disappointed when I listen to the cd, but at least I didn't buy the cd and I can just return it to the library if I don't like it.

Yeah, that is quite lucky that you didn't really buy the cd. Me, I just look them up on the internet and listen to them or download some if I like it. Sometimes I even download an album first but then get disappointed since the other songs aren't as good.

I don't think that liking one song by a particular artist absolutely means you will like everything they sing. Some songs just touch you more than others. You may be bowled over by one song by an artist ans ahate the next song of theirs that comes along. it all depends on the song to me.

Yeah, things like that are always sad. It makes me sad too when I like some song or two from some artist or a band and then find out the rest of their songs are either completely uninteresting or seem to be simply copies of the first one with changed lyrics.

Singers sing a lot of songs, and a lot of songs are not really nice, or they may even be a total flop. Even the Beatles did not really have 100% of their songs hitting the top. This is why it will not be practical to buy the whole albums nowadays since one can purchase the songs or music online individually, and not the entire album.

Exactly! Just because you like one doesn't mean you like all of their song. I do believe that in every song that the artist made has its own story. In composing song an emotion is also needed. There was this local artist here in the Philippines who admitted that some of there song usually the one that they made just for fun were the ones made a hit.

Yeah lady 1993, the similar situation happens to me as well. Sometimes I purposely pay for a CD just because I fall in love with a single song from the same artist. I realize the artist has to perform in various ways or sing songs of various genres to attract fans of different tastes. If I could I prefer to buy CDs with songs sung by different artists if I find more songs sung by my different favorite artists
Happy posting

I am very choosy in terms of listening a music. I listen country songs and love song the most and I don't like most the songs today...
You right, friend. When we listen to the one singer it doesn't mean we love all her/his songs. Because we have different taste in music...

I think that happens ocassionally to all of us, its just no artist really can have music that fits all your tastes specially if they vary and play with genre's. However I often notice that mostly singles and hits from artists are the ones that really stand out from the whole CD, so I think artists are very aware of that as they tend to choose best tracks for singles which they often feel might comply with majority of the listeners and audience and the rest is more a personal invidual preference. so yes, we can't always like it all, no matter what artist it is and that's just normal, it doesn't mean the artist has put less effort in those tracks that we don't like, but it's just that somehow our hearing sense just can't exactly settle for that particular tune and beat.

Ohh yes, last night I listened to a song called "Take Care", from a group with an odd name "Yo la tengo". It was such a nice song that I tried with some other ones from that same group, but I didn't work. They weren't resembling at all, so I stayed with "Take Care" only.

Yeah there are some like that. But not all of them. Those who actually became popular has all good songs in one album. Sometimes we also thinks that some other songs are not good because we are not hearing often on the radio. Do you also noticed that some songs when it became popular on the radio, you started to apprecaite the song more?
