Are you ever cranky for no good reason?

I'm feeling cranky and moody for no good reason today. I can't put my finger on it, but, it's annoying. I'm wondering if I'm the only one who feels like this. I'm feeling restless, yet, I just want to hide under my covers. Does anything in particular make you feel this way?

Hi bobbon664
I believe all of our moods are justified. Through reading your post I understand why your so cranky. It's okay to be cranky you don't have to be a beam of sunshine all the time. When your ready shake it off and smile again.
Don't let the crankmaster take hold of the day. Find something to do that reverses the crank.

The crank is reversed today. Not all the way back, but, not as bad as yesterday. You're right, you have to shake it off, and carry on.

I feel like that right now. I think there is a reason this time though. I am disabled, and am sick of needing help to do the little things. I don't usually stay cranky for very long, and I live alone so no-one else has to suffer through my moods.

I try not to let anyone else suffer from my mood, but, it makes my mood worse when people are constantly asking "what's the matter"?, and you say "nothing", and they don't believe you. So, not only are you in a bad mood, you have to convince people it's nothing to do with them.

I don't get many cranky days in the Winter months I have to admit, I am usually more cranky in the Summer but I blame that on the temperature. I don't do heat. I cope better in the cold. Call it heat sensitive. Although having said that I do get a day here in there where anything can make me get irked and irritable. I just want to be left alone, and I am short with anyone who tries to talk to me! I feel like waving a big sign in front of me saying 'leave me alone or I will bite' When you just can't occupy yourself because everything is too much trouble and yet you should be doing something. We all have days when we just feel like this. Hopefully it will pass, although this time of the year with Christmas around the corner and the stress it causes is enough to make the best of us cranky!

I'm feeling that way too today, for a variety of reasons. But a lot was triggered yesterday at work. My supervisor showed up to speak to two members of the team--they had been promoted to full time just before our last supervisor was fired, but there weren't enough hours available to give them their '40'. I'm in a different division they are, and our supervisor called on Monday evening to CUT my hours by 10!!! And that was the topping on the cake! The Indian guy at Manhattan Bagel charged me $3 something for a bottle of Snapple (?!? !), so I'm ALWAYS requesting an itemized receipt. And yes, he lost MY future business! And I've been without a computer for two weeks--and I've had it! Jim's brother promised us that he would give us a new one, but we're still waiting! I'm going to lose out on claiming my unemployment now!
See why I'm cranky? Guess I'll consider going back to bed--perhaps it'll be better the next time I wake up...

Luckily, it doesn't last too long for me usually. I just don't feel like myself.

perhaps its the season. so many are that way this year. especially if you are not rich and have lots of family to be concerned with or if you are well off and have no one. then some of us are that way over missing people we have lost. ive cried all day over depression. no idea why but this year is the worst.

I think part of the reason is that I got separated from my husband this year, and although, it's generally a good thing, I'm not looking forward to the Christmas season.

Yes, I don't think it's as bad as it used to be. I mean I think I am getting better about my moods lately. It's not really anything in particular. Mostly I think it's that I need to be left alone for awhile. Just to have time to myself. Then there are times I wish that I could do something fun and out of the ordinary. Like leave town for the weekend. Go to Vegas.

I bonbon664, I think we all have those moments. The thing is how do you deal with them. I had them more when I was younger, I guess my hormones were acting up. Now that I am older and wiser I have them less often, thank God for that. Or it might just be that I am not around people that much now. I am unemployed and I live alone so that might be the reason. Now you have a Merry Christmas and don't have a cranky one. Be good or Santa might not come to see you.

Well, not really... I generally always have a reason. There's some reason I'm ticked off. I never wake up and am just unhappy because... it's Thursday and I don't like Thursday.
However, I don't know if my reasons are always good. For example, I'm usually miserable because I see life as this gerbil wheel, where you constantly climb, but never actually go anywhere. What I am going to do today? I'm going to go to work, and do something I don't really want to do for 8 hours.
Why? Well because I need to earn money.
Why? Well because I need to pay for stuff, like my car, gas, and auto insurance.
Why? Well because I need my car to get to work, so I can earn money.
Why? Well so I can buy clothes I need to ware at work, so I can earn money.
Why? Well so I can pay for the house that I spend most of my time asleep in, or getting ready for work, so I can earn money.
Basically anytime I think about life, I get miserable and depressed. But that's my typical reason for being unhappy.
If I happen to not be thinking about it, then I'm happy! lol It happens now and then...

yes, I feel like that often, guess it's just part of some people's nature and the daily stress some are under constantly more than the other. however, I'll be more cranky after drinking ciffee always, it just pumps my blood the way that my nerves don't tolerate things for a long time, so therefore crankiness, its a bit of an annoying feeling, but we can0t always help it, right and factors contributing to it can be countless too.

Yeah sometimes I really don't know maybe it's the weather or we are not aware that there is something we want that we can't get, resulting from being cranky.
I feel cranky sometimes when I don't get calls from someone special to me. I feel cranky lately and thank goodness somehow I feel okay today.

Don't worry about it. Everyone gets this way from time to time. I know I do. I guess it's because I need to spend some time alone time with myself, as we all do every now and then.

I do feel like this happens to me from time to time. Where my mood tends to go south and I am about as baffled as the next person at the situation. Where I am snippy and unable to really coexist with any number of people. There are just going to be many days where I feel like the world has done something in general to really spite me and I'm going to take it out.
I think that a lot of the times, it is just a lot of small things that are going to weigh on my mind. So it is going to cause my mood to be slightly twisted to say the very least. There are just going to be times where it does seem however that there is no good reason. However, I think that in reality, it is just a lot of small reasons. That's just how it goes for me sometimes.

yes, sometimes i feel awful. i donot want to talk with anybody, sitting there , staring into the sky or spin my pen in my palm. you know there are some days women don`t feel good when they are on the monthly period, it`s also true for men ,i think, but not for the same reason.

Happens with me alot. Usually when I feel like that I think I'm this way because of something, but in reality, it's not really because of anything. I think everyone gets that from time to time. I usually try to get myself busy with something, watch a movie for example.
