I like watching different kind of movies. So I also like horrors. My mom is a big horror films fan. She can even watch even when she's alone. I tried watching one before in the evening and I really had a hard time to sleep

Hahaha! My sister also can't sleep after having to watch something scary. Well, at least she tries to watch even if she's really scared.

I am the same way! I like watching all different types of films, and I do watch horror films once in awhile. Your mom is hardcore though, I definitely can't watch them by myself. I'm usually hiding under a jacket or something when I'm watching the movie! I always have trouble falling asleep at night too haha. I'm such a scaredy-cat!

I live horror films as well. I really like the ones that are rooted in some sort of history so it grants it some form of authenticity, especially if the details given to it are indeed factual. Like a very wealthy family once lived there and due to some sort of unexplained accident led to numerous events that are still unknown and at present just became the result of deeming the place haunted.
Aside from that, most Asian horror or suspense movies are more scary for me compared to western horror films where there would be a lunatic out there and the victims were just unfortunate enough to be present to be there. Of course, there are exemptions. Like there are those western horror movies that still utilize the unexplained or what they often refer to paranormal. It still has that enigmatic feel to it.
Just makes me wonder why some films with this kind of theme gets shown on the holidays here in our country.

I guess I just think that the themes for such scary movies are most appropriate for the month that really amplifies that kind of emotional fear and uncertainty, during November or Halloween.
Then again, a lot of people do go out during the Christmas season so this holiday is really ideal for getting one's movies watched by a lot of people who are intending to watch movies.

Well, I really do not know why they have to show such films during the Christmas season. But my guess is that it just so happened since the Metro Manila Film Festival coincides with the holidays.

I love horror films! I don't know why but ever since I was a kid, I enjoy watching them though it gives me the creeps at times. I watch even the low budget ones. I have to agree that interesting horror films are few lately. Nowadays most horror films are with lots of bloods and gore. I still watch them anyway hehe but I prefer classic horror or movies with great story lines.

I do enjoy watching horror movies from time to time, but I don't watch horror movies as often as I used to. I used to watch them a lot more often as a teen. I guess I haven't seen a preview for a horror movie that I'm interested in seeing, lately.

I like the older horror films. My husband and I watch them but the ones they make now are so predictable and not as scary to me... They are more silly than scary

Yes, many of the horror films now are soooooo predictable that even by watching the preview, you'd know the entire story...

I am not a big fan of horror movies. One reason is that there haven’t been any really good horror movies made in a long time. Also, most horror movies have gotten really predictable. It is almost like if you have seen one of them, you have seen them all. Most horror movies are based in pure fantasy, and I am not a big fan of the whole fantasy thing. I prefer watching more realistic movies, especially ones based on true stories.

I love to watch horror films to since I like to scare myself.. I get easily scared by horror films but even these days I can't find a good horror film anymore. Everything is the same old story, not so much original stuff and the effectsa aren't even scary.

I do agree with you. For instance, when I first heard about Paranormal Activity (the very first one), I thought, it would be nice to see it. I was wrong. Some of the people I know said it was freaking scary.
It was not scary at all.

I used to love watching horror movies. It was really my adventure to be watching these movies. I guess I grew up too fast. Now I do not watch them any more. I mean, I have become more practical. Why should I have to pay for me to be scared? I might as well slap a policeman and run as this would give me more scary moments than just having to sit down in front of a giant screen while it scares me, and yet I have to pay for it.

hi dear dolce_vita didnt ever think you would do that, but as I see I am wrong. Somehow horror films dont match with a loving gentle person like you. LOL.
I never have and never will for sure as I hate violence in any form.

sometimes watching others reaction to being scared is as fun, or even more fun that watching a scarey movie.

I love horror films, but I'm rather picky about them. I don't like when they just play off of jump scares and end up being a giant gorefest. I like when the fear is planted like a little seed into my head, slowly growing as the movie goes, sparking off some anxiety in me and instilling a fear that kind of just lingers in the back of my brain. Jump scares can be good when used sparingly and done right, but when an entire movie consists of them to try and get me to be afraid? No thank you.

I am picky about my movies also...and even pickier about music...If I even remember seeing or hearing it, I figure it was at least good enough to capture my interest...but it takes true quality to keep my attention.

Ohh yeah, but I'm very selective when it comes to horror movies. I only watch those in which blood almost has no show, or if it does, it's solid backgrounded on a strong story. I like classical horror, as well as futuristic horror. I believe nowadays horror has declined so much, and now it only sells cheap blood to anyone seeking for getting hair morbidity satisfied.
