Early this morning at 5:20 am Phil. I just saw a Shooting Star it was like a something slices the sky for short time, Well, It's not my first time to see such an event and as anybody else will do I made a wish again, it may sounds like a childish thing but seeing a shooting star and making a wish doesn't always happen.
How often do you see a shooting star and do you make a wish whenever you see one? You don't have to tell me your wish but if ever you made a wish did it come true in any way?

I have a habit of watching sky in night and enjoying the amazing scene of universe. So occasionally have seen shooting stars which visible just for a few seconds. It is actually a thrilling sight. What we need to see it is an open area and clear sky and continuous attempt.

According to a book I read, there are uncountable bodies in the solar system, of comparably smaller size, move around the Sun through various paths. Most of it are rocky bodies. When they and the Earth reach near by path, those small bodies of lesser mass is attracted by the Earth and move towards the Earth. On reaching the Earth's atmosphere, these falling bodies burn due to the friction of the air and its speed. We are seeing that burning which exists only for some moments. We are fortunate that most of these bodies or most parts of it are burnt to ash as soon as it reach the atmosphere.

I don't see often a shooting star. I see it rarely especially now when the sky is not clear. I also do what you do, wishing on a shooting star. I know it sounds childish but it is true. Up until now whenever I see shooting star, I pause for a while closing my eyes and wish.

Same here. I often do this when I am in the province or some rural and quiet area so at least I could see a decent part of the sky. Shooting stars are rare, and I cherish them as you cherish yours. It's a shame that shooting starts don't occur as often as often as I like them to be. at least, there's a possibility that my wish will come true.

@cearn25,
Its good to know that I'm not a loner for the wishing thing after all, Well I guess seeing a rare thing to happen in front of our very eyes is really something.

I have only seen a hooting star once and it was a bad omen for me. We saw it with a close friend and we asked ourselves if it would mean anything. Half an hour later we learned the my grandson had a rterrible illness. I am not supersticious, but I never want to see one again.

I was so young when I last saw a shooting star. I haven't got much time gazing at the night shy after that. I can't even make a wish coz it fell to fast and still don't know what to wish for. But when I got the chance to see one I will surely prepare a wish.
