sometimes when i read some book i realize the power and impact writers have on people. I think they have more power than the strongest political leader in the world, and they justify the saying PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN A SWORD. In all these thought process what happens is that i want to be a writer but realizes how difficult that is. We have to say writers are a rare species.

hello abhi, A pen is certainly mightier than a sword. A word used rightly can trigger a lot of revolutions. And that can be done only by a writer or a journalist. I always wanted to be a journalist. But my family is very orthodox and they think that journalism is not healthy for people like us who live all life peacefully with little socializing and almost only with the family. But i know the value of the pen and I don't want to stop it there itself. So what if i cannot be a journalist, i can always write. I am learning to write articles and I just began writing a couple of days ago. check out this link. http://expertscolumn.com/content/day-when-i-first-saw-you
This was my first article that I wrote. My own experience. I guess it turned out well. But I am not sure. I am thinking to concentrate on improving my writing skills so that one day I could atleast have a small collection of my work so that I can turn back and say that I have used my Pen in my life.

Yeah, it think so. But, writers are not just born. Writing is not just a talent, but also a skill. If you want to be a writer, go ahead and explore. Just as the teacher always says, "Writing is one great communication skill in which we expresses our thought, insights and emotions." Before, I was confused. I didn't know where to start. After a while, I figured out that you need to start from basics. Learn how to organize ideas, the grammars, the style (everyone has style of writing). Also, you need to look for inspirations.
I hope this is useful and enjoy! :)

It's true what you say, and I think that is why so many people are drawn to the pen, to the power it possesses; in the same way they may be drawn to acting; or Rock music: I'm referring to the extraordinary influence writers have. For this reason, it's a most competitive field, and I'd say few writers become truly successful...at least in their lifetime. So many famous writers' lives are tragic, and distinguished by great struggle...either for success...or the maintenance of that success; as I see it. The advent of the internet though has had a miraculous impact on writers worldwide. Now they don't have to labour for hours at a cheap and battered typewriter, correcting their mistakes with sticky white fluid; or over endless sheets of paper under a weak light in some poky room, desperately trying to create a masterpiece. No...now, thanks to the internet, they can create their work, and within minutes see it published...on blogs...on writers' sites...what a wonderful development for the writer. It's certainly transformed my existence as a writer; and I'm endlessly thankful to it. http://smashwords.com./profile/view/carlhalling

Writers are very powerful. And I believe that if you really want to become a writer you can. You have to want it real bad, learn everything about it and dedicate your time to it. Nothing pays off just like that. Everyone that is a writer today has put in lots of hard work and time.

And yeah, I forgot to mention. Sometimes words cannot be spoken. When I showed the person about whom I had written that article, he understood it even better than how much he'd understood when I told him myself. Words written create a magic which only people who have experienced it either by reading or writing can understand. Personally, for me books are possibly the best friend a person could have! No expectations and no complaints. They are there always with us whenever we need them.

Hi, abhi.
You are right about the power of words in these recent time. Writing seems simple and easy but it's really difficult to do, I feel so. I have the same dream as you to be a writer, but I hasn't been it now. My first step to be it is by starting write, either on mylot or on other media. I realize that I don't have any talent or skill on writing but I just want to express what's on my mind and heart.
Further, writing is really useful activity cos by expressing our feeling or stress using it, it can reduced our stress and make us life happier. So, let's start to write now!!!!!!!!
