It is the nature's way of giving you rest so that you recuperate from the rigors of a harsh summer. Winters are indeed a time for rest and recuperation. If there is difficulty or temptation to sleep more, I suggest you go to bed early, body as with other wonders of nature, can take only a limited amount of rest at a time. You will be wide awake for the chores set for you.

I think that it takes me a few more minutes to really pull myself out of bed when it comes time for me to get up during the winter months. Part of it is the fact that there is dark and dismal weather. A lot of the times rather cold as well. The windows are in fact shut as well, so the air in the house is not exactly going to be all that fresh.
So there are just going to be times where it is hard for me to stir. It is hard for me to really pull myself out of that bed on any morning. Granted, I have things to do, so it is time to be motivated regardless if I am prepared or not. Still not going to be a fun time that early in the morning during the winter months. Hard to really get things rolling.

Ha ha :) this just happened to me just yesterday.. The morning was cold, it was raining and gloomy when I woke up. I just was feeling lazy that I swicyhed off the alarm and thought I could doze off for 10 mins more. WhenI got up again I had slept for 1 hr!! I went to office late and got a nice telling off too!! Hope I am not this lazy in the future.
