i am a teacher of a primary school. actually i cant accept the way of teaching and eduaction system todays. scholl is a place where student spend most of worthful time for imitating teachers, reading olds books, and accepting informaton without reverse. just textbookish knowledge is taught at school and student are not educated to learn life skill, skill which they need to face the world. they just get information which oldfashion and so expensive to pay for something we may get free in internet.
what do you think about school????

well..most of the student like that,..
when iam student several years ago, i think like that..
and nothing is wrong in my mind..
but when now i teach somebody else, i believe we must adopt a new style for updating the situation like now..
maybe some of the items in our education systems must be updated and related with the current..and i never said it`s wrong

Well, here in our school, we are discussing, participating, engaging. We are also participating various school activities... This way, we are learning beyond the four corners of the classroom... We are also learning to be socially responsible :)

Yup, you're right! Just as in the movie "3 Idiots", school is not pressure cooker... I like they way our school is allowing us to grow not just in academics but other aspects as well. Merry Christmas! :)

Well actually when i was still going to school, i was thinking if school is a boring place. I don't really like any activities at school and think that as a waste of my play time. But after i'm not a student anymore i'm realized that school is a ver important place for every children. There we learn some information that we can't get just by ourselves like how to read, counting, reading, etc.
There we can also learn something very important like how to communicate with others. When we go to school we will be able to communicate with teachers, friends, and all of the people wh was at that school. Also there we can find some friends, and i think it's very iportant to have friends.
So i think school really is important for anyone. Even now, i'm miss every activities there and if i can i really want to return to that past. ^_^
Happy mylotting...

Well for the system, i think it is good enough for me and the kids will learn based on their age by deviding them in class. And for the way of teaching, i think it is better than you learn it by yourself, because like i said before there are some kind of knowledge or information that we must learn it from other and can't learn it by ourselves. Like what i said before, we can't read or counting without learning it from others.

Hello wulania,
The learning process of a person starts from the school. And school has its won importance. But the way teaching should be changed in accordance with the development in the society. that is the only thing, which a teacher should be cared off.

This is the one which I am against. Especially in the case some standard schools (I mean is that, school which parents prefer for better education). They are always behind to have maximum scores in the exams, but not the future of the students.

Honestly, I can agree with what you are saying. Most school assignments now are answerable by going on Wiki and reading an article and regurgitating the information. However many things that need to be taught to todays youth are not being taught. Not too many kids today know how to sew a button or mend a rip, balance a checkbook, take care of a car, fill out a job application, or make a decent resume. I think that some curriculum needs to be straightened out, and i think it needs to happen at the primary level, before they get older.

Every person in the world has a right to an education. They have a right to learn to read do math and learn about the history of their own country as well as the history of other countries. Teachers can instill a love of learning in their students. Not every thing on the internet is reliable and can be believed. As a teacher and you don't know why people need to be educated then just maybe you are in the wrong profession.

I went to school because.. education is required to get a decent job, that college diploma we need to have.
but i went to school primarily because i need to LEARN. It is where i've met teachers who were not just asking us to imitate them but, but instead they taught me to a responsible, diligent, hard working person. It is those teachers who taught me how to tap myself when i did something good.. those teachers taught me the value of friendship and camaraderie..and those teachers taught me that in life, the end point is often times not important but instead it is the journey. so you see, for me it is essential to be in school.. i also learned to mingle there and i also found my true friends in school.
I guess i just got lucky because the teachers i've had where inspiring ones, they were never the ones who were asking to be imitated they encourage me to be who i am. They taught me the value of reading and they prepared me on what "real" life is.

and you said you are a primary school teacher and you feel discouraged at the current system? It is sad that as a teacher you feel that way..you feel that students imitates teacher.. are you doing it that way?
Maybe you need to find that drive in you. It is in primary school that i met those wonderful teachers i've had. These teachers helped me who i am now. You, i hope would find it in you to be able to find that drive.. to teach students how it really should be and i hope you wont loose the interest to "teach".

School is supposed to give us education which we need in life, when we look for work, etc. You need a diploma before people will take you seriously. If you just go around wasting your time facing the computer and playing around, then no one will want to invest their money in you. A person who goes to school and finishes it means that he has self-discipline and has acquired skills necessary in the work place.

I went to school to fulfill the 9 year program schooling from the government. I have never felt pressure to be at school because all kid went to school. At school, we were taught to be a good guy, morality and given a certificate which was important to continue our next education step. At scholl, we were taught everything. A character of developed country is by good education at school. In western countries, people pay expensively for good education, because their best education can guarantee their future. People run for good education by registering or attending well known university, because student who have passed from such kind of university are the most sought after by large companies and industries world. So, there was not disadvantages being at school or educated.

Schools are something which gives small children a start. They play a role of introducing newbies to the world. Though education is very essential, behavioral education is equally important. But usually students and teachers tend to ignore this part.

Now school become a place to shout, to enjoy, in the noon, to go to meal in the school itself.Complete change from olden days. Some students call nicknames to teachers and some do some other.Totally now school became a place to enjoy rather than to study

I agree with you mam, I had been working in the school for almost ten years but I decided to resign because I do not like anymore the system of the school. For the slow learner students grades should be higher even if you gave them only the passing grades. The teacher is setting the standard to students for them to study hard and earn high grades but the administration itself violates the standard rule. The school earns a lot from students imagine they are not permitted to buy their own books. Students has to buy expensive books to the schools. Every month there is an activity for the students wherein they also earn a lot. They have lots of luxurious cars but they can't afford to put a covered court on basketball area not even to put up a gym or swimming pool which other schools is available.

It is important for children to go to school, because they have to have an education so that they will be able to get a job and things like that when they're older. Also, it is good for them to be able to be around other children as they will be able to learn to socialise with them. It not only helps for them to be able to grow as people, and learn how to work as a team to get the things that they're wanted. Having a good school can make a huge difference in the life of a child, and choosing the right one is a decision that parents should never take lightly.

We go to school for us to learn not just all about school or but for Life. We went to school to receive proper education. I think going to school is just for formality's sake to earn a degree.

School has its advantages. It's one of the largest and longest social environments someone will go through in their life. I agree that a lot of the things taught in school are hard to put to use in real life (really, I won't ever find a use for those complex math problems I learned in college algebra). But school does help teach children certain life lessons - listening skills, cognitive thinking skills, etc. that they probably wouldn't pick up and exercise as much in practical life issues. I'd like it if school did teach students more on how to function outside of the classroom; I had life learning courses back in high school that really helped teach me how to balance my bank account and keep a budget, which have assisted me greatly. I think schools might benefit from something like that.
