I know there is excitement about the holidays. And I know my kids can hardly wait to open their gifts. But I actually HAD to pen one of my gifts. Our old camera has just about given out. I want o get some really good pictures of Christmas this year..like every year! My hubby purchased a new camera. And it is already open. I figure to learn to use it now before the big day to get as many decent pictures as I can. This thing is touch screen and had a lot of new features to get used to. Anybody else already open a gift?

Yes, we have opened two because I observe Hanukkah and last night was the second night. Usually I save the biggest gift for last, but because I had gotten my son a bike and I didn't know what the weather would be like, I gave it to him last night, because today it is suppose to be dry and in the upper 40's..I got a picture of his face too, it was priceless, and then he hugged me for I don't know how long..Needless to say, he loved it..

Yes, I have to plead guilty to opening the presents our daughter sent. It's probably good that we did because she sent the wrong size. When we called her to confess opening the presents, She said she still had the cash register receipts and would send them to us that day. She bought our gifts at a national chain, sol we can take our gifts back to the local store and exchange them. My husband just needs a smaller size, but I also would prefer a different fabric. As you know, we women are never satisfied.

Well I totally understand about opening your camera. I have to do our Christmas shopping today. I know I'm a little late. Money is tight for me this year, so I cannot buy the presents I'd like to buy, but we will have some good gifts.

My children has been opening the gifts the very first day I got my gift. Their hands are faster than speeding bullets. Even before I know I got gifts, my children have already opened them up. This is why I got angry with them so early during this Christmas season out of gifts opened without consent.

I've not been given the opportunity to receive one early, but I did stop the gift of the 4 in 1 griddle from GE. That's just so NOT a holiday gift. I'm still teaching Jim what makes a good gift...and what does not. I did give him one--he loves Snoopy. I ended up purchasing him a 10" seated Snoopy that plays the Peanuts theme song...and I gave it to him last night.
I don't even remember what it's like to get a holiday gift...my sister and brother-in-law give me gift cards, often for places I don't go to. I don't tell them because it's the thought that counts. The last actual GIFT I received was in 2008 from my father--he actually shopped for me! But even he suffered from the inappropriate gift syndrome--one year he gave me a dishwasher!
Jim gave me a new vacuum, computer desk, lamp and chair around my birthday. Secretly I think that WAS my gift. While it was all nice and appreciated, it didn't make me feel special, especially since this was my 40th.
I try to make note of things that Jim likes...and surprise him for Christmas or his birthday. I wish he'd do the same for me.

A few gifts from my friends at the university were not exactly material--restaurant treat, production numbers and other cheesy stuff. Few of the gifts they have given, though, were wrapped. I was so excited so I opened them all already. I'm not a fan of not opening gifts until Christmas day. My mom just imposes this on us so I have to follow. However, like every year, most of us in school would receive gifts when the school resumes, so it's not a big deal whether when we will open them. Congratulations on the new camera! What model is it, may I know?

Nope. I love looking at an unopened gift so I'm keeping them wrapped as long as I can.

My husband and I exchange one gift on Christmas Eve. This is a tradition that his family has done for years and when we got married we kept that tradition going. I open Christmas cards early, but usually not gifts. I am glad that your husband received a new camera.

I got a bunch of gifts from students that I opened up. Several gift cards to different restaurants, and one to a teacher store. Several hand made items. But I guess that doesnt really count, because i am not inviting all of my students to my house for christmas day. I think we have earned our break from each other.

I opened already the gift which was given to me by my father when he arrived from abroad. Thanks for my loving father because he gave me a brandnew Samsung Galaxy Ace phone. My old phone has already been replaced with a new one. I opened it already because I am excited to use it. I didn't wait for Christmas to come.

Yes I have opened a few presents, mainly the ones that have been given to me by people I know like the presents to be opened while you are there, some people like to wait til Christmas but I think it is better to open presents in front of the person who gives it to you. I think it is is a good idea for you to open the present with the camera, so you will be all ready to capture magic moments on Christmas Day.
