The Scarlet Letter - Gary Oldman

The very first time I watched this movie I managed to have it on repeat for at least a few hours and didn't once get bored. Still, I can watch it repeatedly without growing tired or being bored to death by the story or it's characters. Aside from the beautiful soundtrack which accompanies this movie, my main interest lies with Gary Oldman as Arthur Dimmesdale. The way he looks and speaks in this movie has me swooning all over the place. I love men with long hair.. and I love scottish accents so I guess that would be why, ignoring of course that Oldman is indeed a very good looking man either way. I just wanted to share my view of the movie :] and I want to know what you thought of it too, especially Gary Oldman as Arthur.

I remember watchin gthis movie not long after it came out. I don't remember much of it. I do rmemeber Gary Oldman as Arthur and Demi Moore as the woman who had a child, and for her shame had to wear a Scarlet A letter on her clothes becuase she was an adultress.I really have not been interested in seeing this movie again. I just watched it becuase I was interested in it. I really didn't like it.

I was only 4 years old when the movie came out so I doubt I would have watched it at that point in time haha. It is easily one of my favourite Oldman movies and I adore Demi in it as well. In comparison to the novel, many people have said it's awful but I can't say I agree. Each to their own though I suppose :]

Hi, there. I haven't watched the movie of scarlett letter, but I'm really sure that it would be great cos it has great story. Actually I only read its story. This novel shows me that there are many aspects of life that could be happen in a person life. It is not only the happiness that shown but also the sadness appears cos differences and unconnected thought. Seeing from your words above, it seems really good to watched. Well, you make me want to watch it too.

Hello :] I have not read the book but from the opinions of those who have, they consider the movie to be very poor in comparison. I would say I disagree and could prove why if I had read the book as well as watched the movie; but I haven't, so all I can do is say their opinions are rubbish haha. I will no doubt be buying the book to compare them both eventually, but as I adore the cast in the movie already, it was very enjoyable.
