I just could not do this!

as much as i would love to say that this is vile, and disgusting, and i would never do this etc etc.. i think when you are in the situation, it's completely different. human beings have in-built survival techniques, and a part of their brain directly related to self-preservation. have you ever seen that film the happening? with the poisonous gas, or fog, that reverses the reaction in the brain to self preservation, causing people to kill themselves? it's like that, only obviously the other way round. we are all prgrammed to "survive" by any means necessary.

I guess none of us really knows what we will do until we are faced with that situation. I am sure that this man had a most difficult decision to make. I am sure glad we were not in his shoes.

I would have never killed my dog to eat him. He was my friend...my buddy. I think I could have been inventive enough to find other things to eat!

I love animals. But, it is better to kill and eat a dog if you are starving, than to kill and eat a human being.

I dont think that I can do that. Even if I am missing , there will not a dog with me because I dont like dogs. So this question is hypothetical to me.Again let us think for good than thinking about losing in the mountains.I will appreciate you for that much love for your pet.

Hi.. I have seen days when I had to go without food for 10 long days... I lived on water only.. I can't tell you how I got through this.. I rationed my energy for different tasks... I was never so frustrated.. I had nothing to kill... But let me tell you, if I had something to kill, I'd have done that...

When you think about survival, that is something you must do. Can't do something like that now because you are in a secured state. you could die if you don't

He might have solve his hunger but what about his thirst? I thought one would die faster without water than food. As for his antics, I believe it is desperation that drove him to making that decision. As for myself, I don't think I will do it.

hello, I think in that kind of situation , I can say that I can do that because of hunger that i felt. I know my dog will understand why I should do that. I just made a choice. If I dont do that both of us will die with nothing. Though I know how much I love my dog.

In urgent situation, it does not violate the rules. Even the expense another human being. For illustration...If you are in a boat along with some people. And the boat would sink. Then you should get a rid someone else, to save themselves. If in such circumstances, you do not violate the rules.

No never..There are two reasons: First one: The one who lives with you and the part of you life become more precious than your own life..I don't have any pet not even dog. If i will have and i'll face this type of situation then i will try to find other way to survive rather than kill my pet and eat. second one: I am vegitarian so there's no question rise to eat an animal..LOL
