When I first watched Inception, I could not really understand the theme of the movie fully. I have to watch it 3-4 times before I can say what the movie is all about. Another movie with which puzzled me and forced me to watch it again and again is The Dark Knight. Pretty thoughtful stuff these movie contain. Like we need to go some levels deep to understand them. What do you people say? Does any movie has confused you before? Which one?

hello,
Yeah, I can relate here. It is really difficult to understand the movie if it is an action. Ha ha I've did not watch yet the inception but I already watched the MI4 which is kinda confusing to me, I've watched it in the cinema. That is why I am downloading it here in my laptop. The movie is a full of action but I hardly cant understand all what they are talking about. I need a subtitle. ha ha

Ya we Indians face a little trouble in understanding very fast english. I also use subtitles sometimes. Atleast its better than seeing dubbed movies. Isnt it.

dark knight and inception is directed by the same person ..Christopher Nolan.

But reading synopsis of a movie destroys half of the interest and suspense of the movie. I only read synopsis when I want to decide whether I should watch the movie or not. It saves a lot of time. Its better to read synopsis or atleast IMDB rating before going for certain movies.

no ..reading synopsis will NOT kill the story.. it will only tell u a bit of what the movie is all about..
other wise.u will be cclueless (like u havent got a clue about inception at first before u watched it)...
and knowing synopsis ..doesnt mean u have to read one.. its suffice for you to know what the movie is all about in some trailer..or friend told u what the movie is all about etc...u get what i mean???

The Dark Knight and Inception are both films directed by Christopher Nolan and are considered as "logic" films....stories which will blow off your mind.hehe
I'd watched Inception and honestly, I was so confused and got some headache while watching it. Then I did not understand the ending, so I watched it again and finally understood the concept of the story.

No one understood? This movie is really difficult huh? You know what could be funny? The writer don't even intend to have an explanation and be folling us all along, cause I felt like it.
You know when a movie ends and you be angry and unsatisfied? That's how I felt, one of the worst I watched this year.

Looks like someone is angry here. Ya I agree with you, I also kept wondering whether there is more to come after it ended. I think that is the beauty of such movies. They keep you thinking and look confused when you come out of the theater. Ha Ha.

I totally agree with you mate on inception. I watched it first day in the theatre and when I came out I liked the film but really dint understand what all the hype was about.. But after watching it for 4th or 5th time I realised what a beautiful concept it was and was able to really appreciate the movie.
Before tInception the one ovie I dint understand was the Matrix. When I first saw it I was 13 and I just watched it for the action. But then after multiple viewings I still feel I learn soemthing new everytinme I watch this series. It really is a classic :)

Ya Exactly. Matrix was very confusing too. Even today, I am unable to understand many of its scenes/parts. But I consider matrix very closely related to the theme of philosophy which has been always my weak point. Ha Ha.

Yes, both show strange worlds. The Matrix I guess it's an alert for ourselves, we are being manipulated to think we are small, why 4% holds all the money in the world? Because we are influenced from tv and many ways as music to think we are this small drop in the ocean, while the truth is we are all special.
I'm just looking for the answer, as I didn't get inception.

This is one of my favorite movies all time including The Dark Knight. I love movies wherein I need to think deep to understand and the twists in movies too is very satisfying. I like the story of it although their are many questions unanswered and we really don't know if the ending is in the dream state or not. As a whole, I think, this movie was crafted beautifully because I love the authors idea about dreams and even dream within a dream :). After I watched it, I really did recommend this one to my friends. The conversation after the movie is seen is really good. About the Dark Knight, very well played by the Joker which I think is the best played Joker of all Batman movies.

I didn't know what the movie was about at the beginning but with them discussing a plan I simply assumed they have to deal with the bad guys like any other movies do. I should say Inception demonstrated what it means to solve a complicated puzzle which is many levels deep. Another movie that I see resemblance is Adjustment Bureau wherein the main characters struggle and chase the nearest door only to be trapped at the end but set free. These movies serve to tickle the audience imagination.

Mr. Nobody with Jared Leto puzzled me more than anything. Even after the third watch I still have doubts about bits and pieces.
The Fountain with Hugh Jackman was also mind bending.
The Prestige, not as puzzling but I had to watch it twice to get the point.
The Time Traveler's Wife was rather challenging.
Oh, I now remember Shutter Island. I think I saw it 6 times and I'm still surprised by the events. Incredible really.
Secret Window with Johnny Depp was also puzzling and surprising.

There are certain types of movies which we thought we could reach out its message but is we can't. Movies that makes the viewers use their mind and analyze the things happened in the scenes. Movies that are intend to encourages the audience to think deeply.

I remember watching Inception at the cinema with my group of friends. We were really excited to go watch it! When I watch a movie, I need subtitles in order to follow the story and understand every single word the characters are saying or else I will get very confused by the end of the movie. When the movie started, the beginning was very unexpected and at first I didn't get it. I didn't get the beginning at all with the random snippets of Leonardo Decaprio being stranded on the beach at random times. My friends kept asking me what's happening! and we got so distracted because we kept asking what was going on and I missed a few important bits. I didn't understand the purpose of the Japanese man and why they had to do some task for him in order for them to be free. It was a very action packed movie and the plot is very unique but it throws everyone off, especially the ambiguous ending. The Dark Knight was confusing too, it didn't seem to have much story but maybe I just need to watch it more. I like movies with complex storylines.
