There are many programs available which CLAIM to increase the speed of your connection. NONE of them actually can. The speed of your connection is set by your Internet provider and may be influenced by the quality of your phone or cable line, the distance you are from the provider's hub and the number of subscribers using the same line. If your speed is QUOTED as 10Mbps, then you should be able to achieve close to this for downloads when you run a speed test. Upload speeds will be much less. What your ISP quotes is the maximum speed which you can theoretically achieve. You cannot do anything to increase it except by upgrading your package with your ISP. If, when you test your speed, you are consistently getting less than about 75% of the quoted speed, you should definitely complain to your provider. So called 'speed boosters' work mostly by managing the browser cache and tweaking some of the settings in Windows, so increasing the apparent speed with which some pages load. This has NOTHING to do with the real speed of your Internet connection. Most 'speed boosters', especially the free and cheap ones, actually do nothing at all which you cannot achieve free by changing the settings yourself. They are certainly NOT worth the price that many people charge. All that any of them can do is to help your browser to load pages which you visit regularly a little faster by saving chunks of the page so that you don't need to download them again.

Is there really any such way to increase or boost internet connection? There are many who claim to advise different programmes for the purpose but I have no faith in any of them.
