How to get freelancer job?

Today I read great post from one mylotter, who had earned more than 200 dollars in the last month. And he did that with freelancing jobs. It inspired me! So I decided to try some freelancer sites. I found freelancers and odesk which offer many different freelancer jobs, but what I need to do to get them? I am newbie there so I have no feedback and I haven't done such kind of jobs earlier. I have no special skills, but I can make some translations from/to English-Russian-Latvian and make easy data entry works or some research works on internet. Maybe you can suggest me some things how I could get these freelancing jobs. What exactly I need to do to get them? Maybe you can share with your own experiences about that, when you start to do such work?

The big four bidding sites - oDesk, Freelancer, Elance and Guru - all work the same way. It's tough for new arrivals but once you have feedback you'll do a lot better. For starters, fill in your profile. Keep it simple and direct. Post a photo on your profile - preferably of yourself. Employers really do like to see that they're hiring a person, not your pet dog. Secondly, upload a portfolio if it's appropriate. Don't use unpublished work, though (people can steal it). Thirdly, once you've chosen which site(s) you'll use, take the tests to show your skills. Once you get to bidding, READ the offers. Don't skim over them. Your bid should answer the client's questions and show why you're a good choice. You'll have a limited number of bids on the free membership plan, so bid carefully, too - new jobs arrive ALL the time, so don't waste your bids in a frenzy of applications for vaguely interesting stuff. Bid at a reasonable price. It ISN'T always the lowest bid that wins, though you may decide to work for less money to get good feedback. It's always worth over-delivering on the first job so that you get a 5-star reputation! Most people I've spoken to take about a month to land their first job, though some manage it on the first day. Don't give up just because people turn down your offers - I've hired AND worked on freelance sites (for about three years now) and what one person likes another hates. A lot of it comes down to luck. Never give up, never surrender!

I'm a freelance writer and I blog about this stuff. There's a TON of useful information on the web, though you have to hunt around a bit sometimes. If you have any questions, just ask - I'm no pro but if I can help, I will.

Rumour and hearsay. Bidding site jobs are just as likely to pay as most others, if not MORE likely. They have escrow, payment protection and track scammers as best they can (and remove the scammy job listings). True, you need to be careful - but that goes for any earning site. I've been scammed once on a freelancing site, back when I was fresh and new (and stupid), but I didn't lose any money from it. And I've earned thousands since then, without any trouble at all.

Try to use Fiverr, I just signed up last week and yesterday I got my first task and it was approved. The task is simple, I will just place the article with links in my website that ranks in search engine. I will wait for 14 days to clear my payment. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

I signed up with Freelancer.com a few months ago, but got hired by someone else I knew in the meantime to write a bunch of SEO articles. That ended last week, so I went back to Freelancer to see what was available. I placed a bit on an SEO writing job and was contacted and told to fill out an application on their website. I did and am now working through them on assignments. I can do as much or as little as I desire - perfect for me in my situation.

Call me lucky but I am now enjoying some good earnings as a freelance article writer. Last month my earnings reached almost $350. The first employer that I submitted a bid for when I joined Freeelancer is still my employer up to this time. I started in the late part of September and he has kept me on a permanent basis. Make a reasonable bid and not something that is too low or too high. Ask yourself if the amount that you will receive from the job will be worth all the efforts that you will put into it. My online job is not a sideline but an 8 hour job and sometimes more than that. When there are rush orders, I stay up till midnight completing my tasks or wake up early in the morning. Online jobs are not easy the first time but once you get the hang of it then everything will work out fine. Just be determined and dedicated like you do if you were on a day job. This will take a lot of efforts on the first few days but there is no easy work, is there? Once you register with Freelancer check your emails because they will be sending you all the newest jobs according to your choice of categories. If it's not in your inbox, check the spam messages. Good luck and Merry Christmas!!!
