ALL writers suffer from writer's block at some point. It's very real. There are plenty of ways to break it, though - most of them involve NOT thinking about it. Read something, talk to someone, listen to music, go for a walk, watch TV - anything that gets your mind off the subject for a little while will give your brain time to approach the problem from a new angle. Personally, I talk to my lady. She always comes up with something that inspires me, even if it's totally on a different subject!

leave it a moment and work with other assignments (if any) :D am not a novel writer or whatsoever, even though when you're only to write a report you'll also experiencing the block. just leave it a moment and pick another thing to do. fiddling with notes perhaps will help. Listening to music? never heard of it'll help with the block, unless the music was played to ward-off other annoying noise like the noise of builder next to my house!!!!!

maybe reflecting back on your own experiences and relaxing so to clear you brain for awhile, sometimes we all try to hard, we should just let it all come to us.

I have been blocked for so long because I am in the editing process of my novel and it isn't as much fun as actually WRITING the novel. In fact after 7 edits I've lost interest. So, along with five other members of my writing group, we decided to take Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way workshop. Because a couple of members have already done it, we decided to do it in our own little group at no cost (except to purchase the book). I am in week 7 now and it has helped me tremendously. The Artist's Way is not just for writers. It is not just for artists. It is about exploring your creativity. This workshop has given me a real creativity boost. I'm doing things I haven't done in a long time, or some I haven't done at all. You should try and get some people together to do this workshop. If you would like to follow my journey you can check it out at www.triond.com/users/Mary+Patricia+Bird. Start with The Artist's Way, which is a review of the workshop, and then read week by week. If you see how it has helped me, you may be interested in trying it yourself. Good luck!

I just walk from it for a while and do something else like lay down but eventually my mind trials back to it anyways.
