How do you decorate for holidays?

I wound up decorating my front porch for the holidays as there was a contest in my apartment complex so I decided to participate. I wrapped my porch railing in red ribbon and hung red and white silk poinsettias on it, put out a Christmas wreath and decorated too small succulents (desert loving trees) and put Santa, a snowman and angels in the window and a deer statue and teddy bear outside on a porch table... I didn't win a cash prize but did win a box of cookies and a thank you for participating in the contest.
Wondering how you decorate for holidays if you do?

We always put light outside the house,at the terrace,some greetings in the front door,Christmas tree inside the house and some other Christmas ornaments displayed inside the house.

Sounds like it is well decorated... Wondering what color and style are your lights outside and what other ornaments are displayed inside the house? Does your Christmas tree have a theme or does it have a variety of different ornaments on it collected over the years that perhaps don't really go together?
