This happened just a few hours ago. My boyfriend, his best buddy and I, were walking along the road. When suddenly, a kid crossed the street. The motorcycle hit the kid and both he and the driver rolled on the street.
The kid cried in pain in the middle of the road. What really pissed me off was that the driver who hit the kid, attended to his vehicle first and left the kid where he lay. He even pinched the kid because he was angry of what the kid did.
My boyfriend rushed to the scene and carried the kid to the pedestrian lane, to keep him off the road. The child cried some more. The other civilians who were near the scene watched and argued with the driver.
A few minutes later, the kid's father arrived, confronted the driver and took the kid to the hospital.
So, who do you think is to blame here? What should have been done? Is the kid to blame for crossing the road so suddenly?(there weren't many vehicles running by) or is the driver to blame? or is the child's parents to blame?
For me, I blame the parents. We wondered why the kid was alone on the road. I think he was about 7 or 9 years old. More important, who should be paying the hospital bills and the damages?

Accidents are called that for a reason, it was an accident, I am sure the kid didn't throw himself in front of the motorcycle and I am sure the person on the motorcycle didn't see the kid and think, "Hey, 20 points if I hit the kid"
I hope the child is okay, and nothing major is broken, but really, both are to blame, the kid should not have been in the street and the motorcyclist should have paid more attention.

I have no idea, at that age I knew where my son was most of the time. Now that he is 9, he is old enough to go up the street, but only if he asks me.

it's all just bad timing huh? What really got me was that, nobody helped the kid and just stared. And the kid's parents were not around, they had to call the father from his house for him to take the kid to the hospital. Why did they leave their child alone on the streets in the first place?

To me, everybody is probably to blame whenever accidents occur. But in this case you narrated, that driver is definitely to be blamed because why should he check his car first without checking on the boy, even if the boy is to be blamed. That driver is a cruel man and maybe he doesnt even have kids at home. Some people will just never be forgiven because of their cruel actions.

He is indeed very insensitive to the needs of the kid he just hit. He probably thought it was all the kid's fault.

The boys parents or parent should not have let him out alone. He was only 7,8 or 9 years old. The boy didn't use the green cross code. Some children have no sense to cross the road safely. The driver that hit the boy should have attended to the hurt boy. He acted in a very selfish way. Well done to your boyfriend for helping the boy. Luckily the child's father took him to the hospital. I wish he makes a full recovery. When I was at primary school a boy got hit my a car very sadly. He had to go into hospital for a long time.

On a brighter note, the child might only have a few wounds, non were open. I suspected a dislocated leg, poor kid. The head was fine, he wasn't bleeding anywhere. Good thing it wasn't a car or a truck, otherwise he would have been squashed.

Wow, that's sad. I got hit by the motorcycle recently and yesterday, me and my friend were discussing how careless drivers have become these days.
I know I got hit partially due to my error, but the kid's thing sounds serious. I remembered this incident where a guy knocked down a kid, it was the kids fault.
When the guy tended to the kid, some other people came and started beating the hell out of the guy. And later the guy came with his mom,a few friends and the cops.
He was suffering from Jaundice and could've been killed.

agh, that's really stupid to beat the guy who hit the kid. I mean... he's the one who is supposed to pay for the child's hospitalization, why create an additional problem by adding the driver as another patient, he will have to pay double. people need to analyze things before giving in to rage.

It's so horrible what happened to the child. For me everyone should be blame.First the parents, parents should be aware of the places where they heading to and explain to the children what's on that place, and also as early age parents should educate their children about precautionary measure and when going out with family, parents should take an extra effort to attend their children.Secondly the society, hope were are vigilant enough in our suroundings,if we saw a child and if you think its trying to cross a road like what happened to the chid,we can prevent to happen if we just going to take an action. But since accident happens no matter what precaution we do,we should help the child instead of pointing anyone.

right, finding someone to blame won't help undo the problem at hand. Everything happened in a flash, we did not even see the kid try to cross the road until he was hit.

Wow it's insane how insinsitive the driver is. Even if it is the kids fault he should still tend to the child who is crying. After all it is only a child he probably doesnt know any better. The driver should help pay the hospital bill even if it is the childs fault because he cause his injuries.

I agree. The kid was already in so much pain, he need not add more pain to let the kid know what he has done wrong.

Yeah, not really surprised about this one. Given how many motorcycle riders take their bikes rather seriously, to the point where they would marry them if they could, that would be the first priority. Not saying it is right, but some of those people are rather insane. This entire situation is one of those things that was bound to happen.
I think that this is one of those situations, where the driver should have been more attentive, perhaps the child should have looked a bit more carefully, perhaps the parents should have really not let their kid to run free. Granted, the parents are likely the ones to blame the most for, naturally with the driver not being right. I just see it being one of those situations where the child should have been the first priority but still doesn't really surprise me. We have are share of drivers around here who I'm certain would accidentally kill someone with a car and damn them to hell for putting a dent in it.

I had also seen a motorcycle accident in front of me. Two boys who are aged below 18 years just riding the bike with heavy speed and just hit to a old women. I women got badly hurted and the two boys was arrested. Most of the accidents around us are caused by careless driving with heavy sped.
Remember SPEED THRILLS BUT KILLS.
