Well friends... I am not a Christian and we don't celebrate this at our home but I have very good memory of it which my other family persons doesnt have. I have stayed in hostel for all my student life and in those time I used to have many friends who were Christian. We used to start celebrating it after second week of December and many times I have visited my friends home giving them company to their home in the holiday. Even lately when I was satying in Kolkata my GF was very fond of this festival and e used to hand out on Christmas eve and this day together. Though now no one from my surrounding take any interest in it but still I remember those days and visit some Church on this day, not because I am a religious person but I feel happiness inside me after watching so many people wearing new dresses and celebrating, spreading happiness. What is your experience and how you feel it ? Thanks.

Hi sincere4frdship, It's true that one doesn't have to be a Christian to celebrate Christmas. It should be a happy time when people enjoy being with family and friends. A time when people share with those who have less also give gifts to their families and friends. Not everyone goes to church but more go at Christmas time than they do at other times in the year. People also seem to be happier and more are smiling, all in all, it's a good time of year. Blessings.

You are right. Enjoying some day, when everybody is enjoying and feeling the happiness which can be seen on their face turn us happy. If not others then me atleast. When I used to stay in Kolkata(a metropolitan city of India), I wasn't habitual to roam at time of their biggest celebration called Durga Puja, but I used to sit in my balcony and watching people roaming and felt so much happiness within me. Thanks for your response.

I am not Christian either - and neither is anyone in my family. It was never a part of my parent's culture either. But we have always celebrated Christmas at home . . . and why not, any reason to celebrate is wonderful in my book - ha ha! My husband was brought up Christian, but he is not particularly religious himself - and of course his family celebrates Christmas - and we celebrate it with our kids. At this point, it's not significant to our children in a religious way, but we are trying to teach them about being giving, thankful, generous, gracious, etc etc. I am trying to teach my oldest one about the religious roots of Christmas, afterall, that is what this holiday is. Yep, this holiday has a warm and fuzzy feeling about it - and this part of the year will always be special to me.

I wanted to conver these things only. Celebration should just get the reason and we are onto it..and thats what bring happiness in our life.. Religions doesnt do much role. what is role of religion in "Holi" ? Most person cant connect it anything...but still we celebrate and I enjoy those time... Thanks for your response...

Like you i am also not a Christian but unlike you i do not have any Catholic friends.Yes, during my schooldays there were many catholic boys in our school which was a convent schhol and this was 50 years back. For us the only reason to celebrate was that we had Xmas vacations but neither did i go to any church nor did i visit any of my friends` homes to celebrate the festival. In our country the Christian community is quite small and in a minority and they celebrate it quietly unlike our Hindu festivals which are celebrate boisterously.

2000 years back the angel came down and told the shepherds, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you" If you look at those words, the angel says I bring good news for ALL, not for a town, a country, a state, young or old, male or female, or a tribe or a religion. A savior is born and this is a good news for everyone. God has come down to save us from sin, agony, distress, pain and every problem. It is good to hear that you enjoy Christmas time. I would like to invite you to enjoy the Joy the Lord gives us. Invite the Lord into your heart once and try the Joy he gives u for eternity.

Well... I have never enjoyed this day due to this reason. I always need a day when I can enjoy this day with some friends. When Jesus was born and whether this was his birthday is a very questionable thing for me too as I dont believe on persons who has come after 300 years of Jesus and can say that he was born on this certain date...lol And if he said these things then he who can be claimed to bring this terrorism, tsunami, earthquake etc... Thanks for your response though...
