Isn't it interesting how something ordinary becomes special?

A thought just came to me this Christmas day, as I was walking around the clear streets because most people are in their homes celebrating their day off with their family.I thought that what makes this day so special. I have read somewhere in the past that Christmas has really no real date. And how amazing is that how this tradition is still passed on. I mean let's face the fact. Dec 25 is just as ordinary as Dec 26 or 27. And there are a lot more holidays in the year that we often time do not celebrate as extravagant as the Christmas Holidays. What makes this day so special? Why was it put on the 25th? And why not on any other day. Just a thought to ponder this holiday season. Merry Christmas.

I was actually told once why it was placed on the 25th but for the life of me I can not remember. There is a reason though. The actual birth of Christ is believed to have actually been sometime in October. I think Christmas is such a special day because it signifies even if not on the correct date the birth of Jesus Christ, and how he saved us all with his loving act. If not for his birth our sins would not be forgiven. I think it is wonderful that there is a holiday that brings families so close together, too bad there can not be more such occasions throughout the year.

I feel that Christmas day is more a symbol than a real birthdate. It doesn´t matter exactly when Christ was born. What is really important is what he said, what he tried to teach (and we don´t listen). On December, 25, some of us remember how he preached about love and forgiveness. I strongly feel that presents (small ones) should be given as tokens of love and not as a proud race about who has more money to give more expensive gifts.
Let us hope that some day we learn a bit of what the Master said.
