I also had the same experience with you this Christmas which is the spirit of giving.. Some of my relatives was included in the tremendous flood caused by bagyong Sendong in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines wherein their clothes, appliances, and even their house was washed away. But the lucky thing for them was they were able to survived without anything left but the clothes they wore that time. I felt so bad and i pity on them that they celebrated their Christmas in a sorrowful way. And that I felt so blessed that our place was not included in the flood. So what i did was that i looked up to my closet and chose those of my clothes and the clothes of my parents that we are not using anymore and given to them. We also shared foods and cash for them to celebrate christmas in a positive way. In that way, I felt so blessed and thankful that i have things to share to those who are in need. Christmas season is not a season of having an abundant christmas lights and delicious foods in our table. It's a season of giving and sharing what we have because in that way we will also feel that we are blessed and loved by God Almighty. May God bless us always!!

Thank you also ritz.. Its a feeling of fullfilment that you have something to share to those who are in need this christmas season. Its not about the value that counts but thoughtfulness and the willingness to give that really counts. Merry Christmas to you. God bless!

ritzz -- the pleasure or happiness receive when you give others is something which has to be experienced.
I am happy you gave chocolates to poor people. I suggest you eat one or two chocolates today on account of Xmas.

There is always more joy in giving than receiving. It is more so when you give to those who are deprived. However i would like to ask you a quetion? You say that you are on a diet and thats why you gave away the chocs.suppose you were not on a diet then would you still give them away.Real charity, my friend, comes when you unselfishly give away what you have and not when you don`t need what you have.Anyway what you have done is noble and thats why you felt the joy.

You have done great work. You must have seen the smiles on the children's face when you were giving them sweet and gifts. I have not encountered that kind of joy but would love to encounter one. I gave some money during the joy of giving week her and i felt satisfied that the money i spent is going for the welfare of the poor children.
Few high societies celebrate with drinks and dancing but the joy the get is temporary. This kind of joy lasts forever and the memories remain in our minds in the days to come. Wishing you a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

It is a great joy that of giving and with no expectation at all. I bought different types of candies and sausages and gave them to my family and friends. They were surprised and happy with them. The pure joy of giving and peace of the Christmas time is very redeaming.

The joy of giving is only known to those who give. I do it each year during Xmas time and also in between. But what I do for Xmas is something special. Each year I give the orphans from an institute a different experience. This year I took them to a place where there is a beautiful park where they had fun, followed by lunch, a tour of a museum and a visit to the planetarium. There were 81 of them and I had arranged buses for their commuting.

That's the best way of celebrating an occasion by making others happy and to serve those in need. Joy of giving is always more and you would have felt by the looks of those poor children after they got the chocolates. Great work...

hi ritzz yes when you give like that not expecting anything you do
get the pure joy of giving. you make eyes sparkle and children
laugh and that is priceless.I have had that feeling too when i gave
away things to those not expecting anything and me not expecting anything either but was I surprised how great the joy was that I felt.
you can not get that from gifts to people who already have too much only from those who really appreciate it. Merry Christmas ritzz
hugs from hatley

There is really satisfaction in giving. if we share our blessings to those are in need, something feels our heart. And giving is also one way of saying thank you for the blessings that we have receive.
