I mostly keep my windows task manager open.. I mean it's always there minimized in taskbar but I can see CPU utilization and RAM utilization from the graph.. I do try to free up more memory and less CPU consumption.. What about you? do mylotters keep task manager open while working?

I don't have the habit of doing so. I don't like multi-tasking on my CPU because it tends to slow things down. I rather do things individually, saving a lot more time than waiting for it to load. It's the same when i'm online. I don't open multi tabs. I prefer to read things through, decide if i really need to open that link. As my internet connection is not really stable, thus my efficient way of using CPU is to cut down on what i don't need at that moment.

I open it only when some programs do not respond or the system's response is getting slower. I use the task manager to kill or terminate programs that ain't responding. I also used it the check unnecessary processes running.

If the memory of your computer is rather small and you use so much applications, more than what your computer can handle, it is good to track your consumption. Before I replaced my old laptop with a better one with higher specs, I always track my memory and CPU consumption. I am a graphic designer and a programmer; meaning, I use a lot of RAM-eating programs like Photoshop and various integrated development environments (IDEs). I used to get a lot of blue screen back in the day so I made it a habit to track the processes in my PC. I also make it a point to free up disk space and fix registry issues every now and then.

sometimes I open the task manager while running software or any program, I am shock whenever I see my system use more than 1gb RAM only for updating and I might not see the other application.

Well, i never open my windows task manager when i doing some multi tasking because i think it also could make our computer a little slower. I will open the task manager when my computer starting to run slowly to check any unneeded programs and closing it to free some space for other running programs so they can running a little faster. But, sometimes doing this still can't improved my computer speed. When this happened to my computer, i will restarted it then the speed can return to normal again.
Happy mylotting...
