stages of a mylot veteran

this the evolution of most Mylot members who were able to last here for year.I hope many people can relate.
stage 1: the suspicious stage- this a stage were the member doesnt fully trust mylot. they will maek discussions on asking if mylot is a scam or not.
Stage 2: Miss Diana'd -you are a bit misguided and have a brief encounter with Miss Dianna D, Ms D or another Veteran will give you a link to the guidelines
Stage 3: OMG my post is deleted- this is a stage were this person over reacts and got angry cos his or her post got deleted, its either they make a violation or they naively responded in a discussion with violation.
Stage 4.super inspired-this is a stage were you are so motivated to make multiple discussions like there is no tommorow
stage 5. Quality over Quantity-this is the stage were your discussions have good quality and you already figure out how to enjoy mylot.
Stage 6. Writer's block- your head is dry, you run out of ideas, you cant make discussions anymore
Stage 7. role reversal- cos you run out of ideas- you just participate in othger people's discussions.
Stage 8. Hit and miss- sometimes you are active, sometimes you are not.

Hello CaptAlbertWhisker,
Though i don't consider myself to be new here on MYLOT but still i have craze for MYLOT as it was when i was just a newbie here. And i wish this attraction does not go away with the time and i enjoy MYLOT whenever i log in here.

there will be moments a person will go stale and may need some break, I hope some of those people will fuel their fire again.

I think I have gone on this stages. I can really relate with what you have observed around the members here in myLot. I am sure a lot of myLotters can relate with this too. Admit it! It is also sounds funny knowing that this is some kind of a cycle running in every mylotter.

when a new member ask questions about mylot, the first thing that gets through in my mind is "been there, done that" is there something you had experience in your growth here that i forgot to mention?

CaptAlbertWhisker I think I h ave gone through some but not all the stages. I am starting on my fifth year here. I have never
questioned mylots validity as I had super good luck my first two
years here then missed almost a year when our personal lives turned upside down and again was off the computer til I got my son to get my computer and monitor our of storage. got on cable and was back my lotting again.I have had writers block the last couple of days so am doing a lot of responding instead trying to make a bit more money and also keep in touch with all my many mylot friends.

interesting. i don't start discussions, so for me the mylot stages are slightly different, though i recognise some of the early ones, definitely, but i wonder if i am going to end up being a start loads of discussions person.

Being a thread starters is not really an easy way, there will be some people who willruin your topic, there re also people who wont get your topic and sometimes no one will give a damn with your topic, and if someone does, it has has nothing to do with the topic.

Hmm, I can't really evaluate what stage I'm at, or supposed to be at now, I think I've gone through them all at least twice.
I've been here around six years as one user or other, culminating in the stage where You eventually try to log in and find that You can't.
This time round I'll just have a little fun, try to gain information on earning at other sites and not expect to hang on to my earnings here for long.

I've had over four accounts now,the problem being that I lose interest very easily now after my first account went, looking at it now, it only shows around half the posts I actually gained, (stmech0).
I also lost a lot of friends for no reason, two very respectable posters from India, a friendly Lion, (who has also revisited in various guises) and several others, I can only assume that trolls were the culprit, I do know that association with them, even by having discussions disrupted by them constantly can give rise to suspicion.

Very interesting observations. Not all go through all stages, but also in stage one, if they are not asking in a discussion, many users are still saying "This is too good to be true." and sometimes at the later stages we become sporadic when other things interrupt us and we cannot get here, as much as we miss it. Merry Christmas to you. I am in the very busy stage now, for a few weeks, but I always think of MyLot.

I'm sure not everyone gets through the same stage, some people are just stage 1 then they quit. other stages i forgot to mention:
1.Your first mylot argument- Its were you found a person with a different opinion to yours.
2.First Mylot enemy-the first person you have a fight with
3. Your first friend-The first mylot person you consider your friend.

I have not gone through all the stages you have mentioned here. I used to participate in yahoo answers , jut for fun and in order to improve my typing. I was guided to this site by someone from there. I never worried much about earnings and have just been participating selectively here. I have made good friends and my earnings are pretty insignificant because I have no referrals too. So, I just keep peeping in, write a few responses, suddenly start a few topics when the mood takes me . I have always written sincere responses to topics that I like.

I have gone through several of these stages and find that now that I am going through a lot of changes in my life, I am able to write more. I use thes changes to ask questions for more information about what I want to know about. I might know the answers but try to find out more and possible find out better ways to do things that I take for granit. I make sure to be courtious to everyone because other people see different things than I do so I might not be able to figure out something that others can in a very much easier way. I answer questions that I can (when I have time to) so that I might give an easier way to do things for other people. The money that I get is not enough to do much with so I do not do it for the money althoughh I do not give it back. When I do get some money, I usually buy something on ebay with it.

there are ebay items below 10 dollars, so yes you can buy some stuff in ebay. there is a certain stage in my life here in mylot were I can earn 100 dollars monthly but not anymore because I dont give a damn about money anymore. I'm just here to talk with people who I will never meet in person. Its a place to share my thoughts and share some secrets.

Hello Capt,
I guess I am on the last stage huh..."hit and miss"
Well..no not actually.
It just happen that I stumble on one site that fire up my passion in writing.
But still I never miss to come here in mylot- might be not too active or spend more time like before..but I am here....still active.
I want to reach my 11K post soon

I think I would have been more active if we are diverse enough, Mylot is diverse in some ways but there are certain cliques of people I wish to register here. Its a good place and one of the best forums, since it has us protected from some spammers and trolls. But there are things we cannot discuss here, not because its not allowed but the audience for such discussions is not here. You can see trying to take risk sometimes though, cos I wanted the lurkers to register and build a niche.

Hi Captain
Hmmm... I am not a Vetran yet But I think I am sure to find myself on all these stages somehow. But yes, Not in that order. I have been away, also got my discussions deleted, I post less than many other active posters/starter but that is not because I dont have any ideas... In fact I have about 360 posts still on my notebook that I would love to post... But I havent posted or started them just because I dont want or need to at the moment - as I know, I am LAZY and will not be able to attend to many responses that I might get on those - This is in violation of your Stage4 no doubt
And as I am not yet a Vetran, I have stopped going out bersek to give advices to newbies as I realized, many of them dont want advices and typing out to them is talking to my own self

I think a 2 year member can be considered veteran, specially if you are super active. I know many people quit after their first traumatizing experience of deletion. Yeah not everyone evolved in the same order.
I experienced the lazy stage too, I just dont felt like mylotting then,I was so into killing zombies during those moments. There were times though I'm busy at work. I quit giving advices to newbies, they dont listen anyway.

maybe myloters have different stages but in some point that is how it is.. I'm still new here but as far as know this site is great. although I'm still new I'm already at stage 8 sometimes active sometimes not. the reason why situation changes or maybe our time doesnt allow us to do so.
