Top 10 Searches of 2011 base on Yahoo's Year in Review
iPhone
Casey Anthony
Kim Kardashian
Katy Perry
Jennifer Lopez
Lindsay Lohan
“American Idol”
Jennifer Aniston
Japan Earthquake
Osama bin Laden
just wondering what fellow mylotters usually search about..did you search one of this?
there are only two things I searched which is on the list and that is Iphone and Japan earthquake.
Base on this list it seems like internet users are mostly searching for celebrities/celebrity news. Are you that kind of internet user? or do you search more about other things? then what do you usually search in the net? Recipes? News and current events? about sports? new gadgets and technology?? and Why you usually search about that particular thing/topic/word?

Hi phillyguy
I dont have an IPhone and maybe that is why none of my searches are in those 10 of Yahoo
I usually search only my work related stuff - Tips and Tricks or any new piece of code and during my days off from work, I normally search for Occult, or Religion or anything that suits my fancy that time... kind of para normal that interests me more. I do not follow or search any celeb... They are already occupied and busy with too much of work and I cannot help them anyway

It says a lot about our world that the earthquake in Japan and the worst terrorist in the world are only 9th and 10th - the 8 top results are all entertainment rubbish.

"it represents more of the younger generation because we are the one using the net more"
I don't think that's so true any more. My generation grew up with technology (just about) and are generally pretty rabid about gadgets - you'll find PLENTY of 20-40 year olds (the generation just AFTER me) who are connected 24/7 and use the internet as much as - if not more than - teenagers.
Of course, that's just my opinion, not any kind of statistic.

yeah it represents more of the younger generation because we are the one using the net more and base on this it is quite saddening to know that many people are more interested in celebrity news than more important things

Hi phillyguy! I haven't searched not one of those things...lol. I usually just research things that I have seen or heard of that interests me. Like if I here something amazing or strange..I research it. I shop some online too. There is a vast library of knowledge at my fingertips and that is usually what I am seeking. I have searched recipes before and stories about current events but that is not the things I regularly search for.

yeah I also have fun reading about amazing, strange or odd stories in the net, I seldom read about celebrities I'll better spend my time reading interesting discussions in mylot than reading about celebrity gossips/updates. Lately I've been searching about iphone4s and Samsung s2 because I wanna compare these phones.

I think it's unlikely for an Indian celebrity to be included in such list because it is worldwide, unless an Indian celebrity will be very famous not just in India but also in many countries around the world..

LOL:D I didn't search even one of these. I usually search only about my college studies and subjects and may be for some songs and other information. I sometimes suddenly remember a song that I don't have in my collection and search for it. I search for topics that I encounter in my school subjects.

Good grief..the news is over loaded with all of those things.. don't know why anyone would want to search for more!!! I can't stand celebrities these days. What a shame on HOllywood they have become.
I search for things like health issues to get more info about things. Recipes, craft projects, things I want to learn to do...like recently due to buying a house, I have been searching for things to do with my landscape. I don't know much as having lived in apartments or some one else's house for the last 34 years..I haven't had the need for that knowledge but now.. I want to know and do! I also search for crafts for kids and things to make. Occasionally I will search for something to do with current events, but seldom. Like I said.. I watch it on the news and get plenty.

Honestly, the things I searched throughout the whole year got nothing to do with what has listed above.(^^) I do search about celebrities but not that much, but more to news and current events or general knowledge. I like to learn many things but I dislike to know about other people life that is why I don't search much about other people..(^^)
