People here in the UK like having mince pie for Christmas. Have you tried it before? The first time I had it, I hated it and sore that I won't have it anymore in the future. However, the second time I had it which a year later, I didn't hate it anymore. This year, I have almost ten of them already and I think I have addicted to it. I think I will miss mince pie in the coming future. Have you have similar experience which you hate some food at the beginning but you like them later on?

Having mincemeat pie at Christmas-time was a family tradition when I was a child. I really like them a lot. When I was a kid, I thought they where made with meat, ; I was relieved to know that they are made from minced apples and raisins. Mince pies are harty and flavorful, they make any meal complete. I did not like them the first time I tried them but the flavor grew on me as I aged; by the time I was a pre-teen, I was hooked!
The only other foods that had to grow on me were cabbage (love it now), and large dried lima beans. I love both now. It's funny how our taste changes with age.

Never had it. I had a dream once that someone gave me a mince pie and it tasted like couch foam.

Mince pie was one dessert that i never really aquired a taste for. I like a variety of pies and baked goods but i can't count mince pie as one of them. I caqn't recall any of my family members that were bowled over by it either.

i love mince pies, and christmas pudding and christmas cake, all those rich fruit mixtures i like.
i found with my own children that they didn't like them when they were very young but the older they got the more they liked them. the same with sprouts.
some people just don't like those flavours, which is fair enough, but for others they are a taste that can be acquired.

I can't say that I have ever had any mince meat pie. I would love to try it though. I have heard of it before. I thought I might have accidentally picked one up once at the grocer but if it was, it was very similar to pumpkin pie. It might not have been one though..it's been a long time ago that happened.
One of the foods that I have hated and grown to love is, like a previous responder mentioned, cabbage. Another one would be Spinach. I used to could not stand them either one but now, I could eat them all the time. Asparagus has become a recent love too...I just never really had a lot of that before. Chicken livers are another thing that I think are an acquired taste. I am still picky if I eat them though...they have to be cooked just right for me to have them.

My mom used to make the mince pie and mince cookies. I was never fond of them. once I left home I never have seen them again. I never have made them either.
