How soon is too soon to start buying baby items?

I plan on having another baby this upcoming year. (Sooner rather than later) I've already started buying some baby items (unisex) because I'm super excited, and I just couldn't wait. I've started buying some smaller items like toys, teething items, bulb syringe, and stuff like that. I am not pregnant yet or ttc yet, so I will wait to get certain items, but I just cannot help myself! Am I buying things too soon?

This sounds like a very good thing. And if you, for some reason do not get with child, you can always use the things as gifts to someone you know who has a child.
You will not find this stuff at a cheaper price than now. It seems that everything keeps going up these days.
I want to wish you and your husband great luck in getting a new baby, they can be so much fun.

Wow thanks for the best response, I was not counting on that just wanted to offer what I thought was good advice.
I'm good at giving advice and sometimes it is even good.

You're welcome. I gave you the best response because you were the most positive. Of course you never know things can go wrong in a pregnancy, but I am optimistic and praying that it will not. I personally am just over excited to think of it, and plus when I had my daughter, I was so stressed thinking of the things that I needed to buy and had a difficult time doing it. If I have a little extra to spend, I don't mind buying small baby items here and there. But anyhow, you're advice is good!

Hello morsgoodygoody00, its nice to meet you.
I personally believe that one should but items for their coming babies when they have entered their third trimester. This is because I had a miscarriage in my first trimester and I am really afraid to go through the pain again.
I did not buy many things but whenever I went through the small dresses and beautiful toys it was so much painful. After the miscarriage I got preganant once again but I did not buy anything till the third trimester.
I do not know but it is personal choice. If you fell happy and these things are adoarable you should buy them but do not spend a big fortune on them right now because there will be so many things that you will have to buy in the last months.
Best of luck.

I suppose that the doctor told you that you would have no trouble getting pregnant. In that case, I would say stock up on things ahead of time. And if you do not pregnant, you can always give them away as gifts for baby showers so you gain on both ends.

I think it depends on the person when you start getting things for the baby. With my history of having miscarriages before my children now, I didn't feel comfortable getting things early, just in case. That was a huge worry of mine to lose the baby. If you feel comfortable and ready to get things that is great! I hope it happens for you soon. =)

This is slightly superstitious, but I've always heard it was bad luck to purchase anything for a baby untill 3 months of term in your pregnancy. I've always stuck by that even though it may be silly. I know it really makes no difference in the pregnancy but what happens if pregnancy ends in miscarriage, the purchased items can be reminders of sadness. Maybe I am like that because I have experienced the devistation of a miscarriage and would not want reminders of it
