I observed my brother has always going to toilet frequently and he seems losing weight too fast recently. He is not confident to visit doctor and afraid if something not right he shall change his eating habit. Although he is still below 40 years old, he is not ready to control food consumption yet.
So he is just need to calm him and pretend everything is alright. I suggest him better to check to doctor and see the result rather than disappoint later.
I knew some of the diabetes symptoms ,like above..do you know other diabetes symptoms besides the one on above?

It seems that the fatter people are likely to have the diabetes. You will feel thirsty, besides, your skin will feel itchy due to this healthy problem. I also learned that your the ants will be around your pee since it contains sugar. If a normal person who loses weight suddenly, it is also a bad sign to show that there is something wrong with your health. I hope your brother will be alright.

Many at get diabetes at age 40, might be hereditary type2 diabetic, he should not neglect must visit a dr and get treated as early as possible, the dr will tell him what to eat and what not to eat, he should get his blood sugar measured regularly and monitor it, this should be 70-105 before breakfast, 70-110 before lunch and less than 160 one hour after meals..
Best of luck.

There could be a lot of possibilities - for type 2 diabetes, usually, there's an increase of thirst, going to the toilet a lot, feeling tired, lethargic, itchiness around the genital area - particularly if these signs are present for no apparent reason - it is possible to do a home urine test, or do you know anyone who has diabetes and has a machine that measures sugar levels in the blood? This is just a simple finger test where you just draw a small drop of blood with a sterile pin. But really, it would be better to go to a doctor with your concern as they will be much more efficient and more equipped to form a more accurate diagnosis. Having these symptoms may not necessarily mean diabetes, it could mean something else and the possibilities are endless. Depending on his lifestyle, diet, any changes in his habits, it all depends. I realise it's frustrating having to go to a doctor, I myself, hate going to the doctor and avoid it at all cost and make up a million excuses not to go and wait to the very last moment when I have saved up about 20 things that I need to ask them - and that really annoys them(!) Perhaps you could see a nurse instead or speak to the local pharmacist at a chemist shop, but please try to get some professional medical, just to stop you and your brother worrying, better 10 minutes of time at the doctor than a possible life time of trouble later on...hope this will help. :)

Well, appreciate for your response..you are right, that’s the problem my brother is afraid about those sugar level measurement in the blood.. I understand and have passed through this test and happy to found no diabetes indication, my sugar level is still below limit.. You have good points, to see a doctor will prevent further problem in the future..However, someone with bad eating habit will be stressful and can ended up to have other disease.. Understand that diabetes can lead to other diseases and make it worst if we have already any internal disease.
Appreciate your response..

Diabetes is often not diagnosed because many of its symptoms seem harmless. Recent studies show that early detection and treatment of symptoms of diabetes can reduce the likelihood of developing complications from diabetes.
Some symptoms of diabetes include:
- Frequent urination
- Excessive thirst
- Extreme hunger
- Non-standard weight loss
- Increased fatigue
- Irritability
- Blurred vision
Overview of symptoms
1) The early symptoms of diabetes are associated with elevated blood sugar levels, and loss of glucose in urine. High levels of sugar in the urine may lead to increased urine output, leading to dehydration. Dehydration leads to increased thirst and water consumption.
2) The inability of insulin to operate normally has an effect on protein, fat and carbohydrates. Insulin is an anabolic hormone that promotes fat storage and protein.
3) Relative or absolute insulin deficiency leads to weight loss despite increased appetite.
4) Some untreated diabetes patients also complain of fatigue, nausea and vomiting.
5) Patients with diabetes are prone to developing bladder infections, skin and areas of genetaliite.
6) Fluctuations in blood sugar levels can cause blurred vision. Extremely elevated glucose levels, drowsiness and coma.

Wow, really appreciate your comprehensive response …You mention really good tips and symptoms, I think somebody will search and bookmark this page for a reason..Blurred vision is really scary, this makes us to take care our health and maintain our good eating habit rather than suffer for the rest of our life..I will talk and give feedback to my brother, sometimes uneasy to talk with him since he would have many reason..Like he must entertain his client as a businessman that make him difficult to control eating habit..Welcome to mylot and have a nice mylotting days..

Your brother should see doctor as soon as possible. Untreated diabetes can lead to blindness and kidney failure, limbs amputation, heart attack and stroke. So as you see this can be very serious and potentially danger for his life. If he start to control his diabetes he can avoid all this problems.

Well, you are right..I think will suggest him to see a doctor as soon as possible..The diabetes will lead problem to other disease and those kind of diseases you mentioned are really scary. Really difficult to survived if we already suffered by multi disease like that..I will talk with him and let him know the problem he facing.. If there’s no symptoms he will also glad and can enjoy his life again. However, he needs to change his eating bad habit, reduce consumption of sugar and start to eat healthy food and more fruits and vegetables in his menu..
Appreciate your response..

Well, from someone who is Diabetic this is definately one of the signs, but it could mean something else as well. Is he always thirsty? Always tired? These are some of the issues as well. But if he is loosing weight quite fast lately, this is something he needs to get checked out to rule other health issues as well. Just because you are not a certain age means you will always be Healthy, or never get Diabetes or anything. There is not an age factor for this.

I think diabetes symptoms take a long time before you know that you have it. I think it is much better for him to have a check up to avoid the gravity of disease. Try to convince him to see the doctor because it is also for his own good. My father in law is having chronic diabetes, his feet look like having elephantiasis and he cannot walk well. The doctor said he also have kidney damage because of his diabetes.

Well, you have good points.. The symptoms could be vary from one person to another..I just knew that our skin can gets flaky and itchy, it usually symptoms of allergic or some kind of skin disease..But in case the problem will become worst.. I would suggest my brother to see a doctor or at least check with paramedic, test his blood sugar level at the lab prior to see a doctor..If everything going well then he will able to enjoy life and start from all over again..appreciate your response..

What you described looks like it might be diabetes Type 2 (the adult one which needs medicines every day). However the best thing is to see a doctor a specialist and make all blood tests for it, another thing to do is to make the sugar test at an hospital or clinic and see your brother reaction. Go to a Pharmacy and ask for a sugar blood test with a glucometer before eating or 2 hours after eating food and check sugar blood value... if it is over 120...it is not a good news....try!
