I have never come across a legit data entry job online. I have worked online for about 11 years now too.

You are confused because most Data Entry Jobs are out and out scams. You won't find Data Entry Jobs if you have to send them money to work for their company or to get a Data Entry Job.
The best way to seek Data Entry Jobs is to search for them on freelance bidding websites, such as, Odesk, Freelancer, etc., but you will still have to be careful because you can get scam at these type of websites too.

I think it is a legitimate work but the job providers are scam here. You know, I have been searching for data entry jobs for atleast 3-4 months, but didn't find any legitimate one. I have no idea where to get. But right now, I am an article writer and proofreader, so I think this is going better than that.

I think that is true, but unfortunately most of the sites for data entry is to pay you to work. You know what sites?

So far I have to come across one that is worthwhile to consider. Listen to the two persons and drop the idea.
Move on.

Of course it is easy to know if a certain site is a scam if it requires you to invest something. You can also do a search first on that site before joining to learn if they really pay or not. I have no experience about data entry so I have nothing to share.
