my mother will go to this christmas party..every time she goes to a party she always calls the manicurist for a home service of doing her manicure and pedicure..one day she has to go a christmas party at 10 A.M. the day before she texted the manicurist that she wants her to go to the house at 8 A.M. but she accidentally typed 8 P.M..then the following day she waited and waited until 9 A.M. the manicurist still didn't arrive..so she ask my father to follow up on the manicurist..then the manicurist replied and asked, make sure that is it 8 A.M. or 8 P.M.? then my mother got disappointed angry and said that the manicurist doesn't have any common sense, why she did not anticipate that she (my mother) wouldn't normally want a home service at night or at that time. she (the manicurist) should have anticipated that the party was 10 A.M. why would ask for a manicure and pedicure at 8 P.M.? what can you say? is my mother right about it or she just cannot accept her mistake? did the manicurist didn't use her common sense of anticipating the mistake of my mother?

For me, both had contributed to the problem but I should say it was your mom who could not handle and accept that she had provided the issue and that's when she mistyped AM to PM. She should have just wholeheartedly acknowledge the truth that it was basically her fault, who would have known? Maybe the manicurist could have also said she was sorry for not confirming. Your mom's initial reaction was the anger that she felt and instead of owning up her mistake, she displaced it to the manicurist and that she even got mad at her, which for me, was very wrong. No matter how we say that customers are always right, there should be a border and we should always provide respect for the people that gives care for us in return. Yes, they would not live without the customers, but the customers also could not go on without these providers. ;) Just my two cents. TC and God bless!

yes, i agree with what you said..my mom just cannot acknowledge her mistake and completely blames the manicurist..that is just one of my mom's attitude..she should know and learn about it...

I think that your mom could have just sent a message and waited for a confirmation from the manicurist... she typed in 8pm and who would not take that as it is.. your mom could have wanted to have her nails done the day before her party. i think that is rather unfair for your mom to say that the manicurist is not thinking or did not have common sense.
