I don't usually play my radio unless I am traveling in my car, or just driving around. Today I just felt like listening to some music. I have turned the television off, I am on the computer and listening to the radio. There is so much new technology now, does anyone listen to the radio much these days?

Popularity of radios may be dropping. But, for me, I still very much enjoy listening to the radio, music and news. Yes, just like you, I would listen to the radio when I am driving. I also have a radio at home, and enjoy listening to it in the evenings.

In some instances radio seem left out because of technology. There are much convenient type of gadget to use than radio.
Mobile phone is one of it. In one thing you can do what you want and even listening to music is there.
Radio is still the one thing that will remain in listening and even if its left out or may dropping anyone can have it.

Well, personally I do not know what I would do without my car radio, especially on long journeys. I can listen to CD etc, but there is not presonal touch there without somebody chatting between the songs. And sometimes, there are heated discussions on radio, particularly at the times I happen to be driving. People are really getting heated up on the phone lines into the radio station and it is quite entertaning to listen to.. _Derek

I am like you. I barely listen to the radio anymore. And when I do, it is usually Sirius XM Radio. I can't stand listening to all the commercials on the regular radio. Most times, I plug my iPod in and listen to that. When I am at home, I listen to Pandora. Technology has really changed the way we listen to music.

We use our small radio whenever there is no electricity in our area but my mother-in-law regularly have her radio on especially at night when she is about to sleep and she never turn it off. Though radios may be considered a thing of the past, it is helpful whenever there is no electricity to power up all our good gadgets. Usually we do updates ourselves in the news through the television or the online news in the internet. But we never discard away our good old radio, we never can say when we will need it again.

I'm still old fashioned and listen to the big chunky radio that sits on my table. The modern radio are now iphones, ipods and those tiny gadgets and you see the young people just stuffing earphones in their ears and listening to their mini radio. I'm in my late teens and I still listen to the radio. Most people around my age just listen to podcasts online or just listen to their own music stored in their ipods or iphones but I still enjoy listening to the radio. I'm pretty sure lots of people still listen to radios, if not then how do the different radio stations get their money? There is one radio station that I listen to and sometimes they have interviews or games in which callers call up to answer. Lots of callers still call up so that means that there are still people who listen to radios. I guess the younger generation mainly don't listen to the radio anymore, they would rather listen to their own music. It's fun to listen to the interesting stories and topics that the radio hosts bring up.

Hi chevee,
Yes we still use the radio at home. My mom switched it on everyday and listen to music on stations that plays good music mostly old songs. But whenever my brother is here he would play all the downloaded music he has on his Mp4.

I think that there will always be a small number of radio stations due to its use in cars and when traveling many people listen to it then as it is safe to drive at the same time however once internet and digital content gets even more popular I think a decrease will occur and an increase it what would be called Internet Radio rather than being streamed in the traditional sense.

Not for me! When ever I'm in the computer room and not in the living room, I like to listen to the radio online. It relaxes me and I get to hear the songs that I've not heard in a long long time so I write the name of it down and who it's sung by so I can search for it on youtube and save it to my favorites in my music folder to listen to later on.

I wouldn't say they are completely from the past. I listen to the radio while in the car most of the times. I think the presence of the TV has changed the way use lots of things, including radios.
I think sooner or later it will be very less used.

Although the popularity of radio's is droping fast, I think many people usem them in their every day lifes. Many people listen to radios when driving with a cars, other people listen via computers or music players. I guess radios are still very popular with old people, they like to listen the news or some light programs :)
In my life, I dont really listen to the radio, well, maybe if I'm preparing breakfast in the morning, or if I'm driving a car, but rather than that, I prefer listeng to music by the PC or on the telephone.
