I'm all on top form tonight, have taken down all my christmas cards, recylced the backs of the cards and have got my zigzag sissers out and have just finished cutting out the pretty pictures, used the hole punch to make a hole and have threaded coloured thread through the holes, and thats all my gift tags all ready for next year! Only problem is I shall need to write on next years calendar where I shall put them in a safe place so I don't forget!!!LOL

Wow, you're organized. I haven't even completely given out this year's gifts. I still have a couple to make, in fact.

We are giving our last gifts out on Friday, the christmas cards keep falling down and won't stay up so thought I might as well take them down and do something useful with them as I had fifteen minutes to spare. Tree looks a real mess so will be packing that up tomorrow, it does help that we have been out all over christmas and not our turn to have everyone ot us.

I have a box that is just for Christmas stuff. I put the lights wreaths, decorations and cards all in this big rubbermaid tub that i got just for this purpose. I am getting so absent minded now days that if I don't do this I am just lost.

Some of the stuff that I have, I do end up taking the tags off of, but then other things I might leave them on if I think that I am not going to use them.

No, I'm sorry. That is just way too organised and therefore unbelievable. It's just way too unreasonable for anyone to be that way and then worse, tell others about it.

Good idea but I don't really put gift tags on gifts but I might do it now for next year as it seems like such a good idea. I would just put them with the rest of the Christmas cards and ribbons and decorations and I would find them next year. Well done on coming up with the idea!!

Hello there, not sure if we have met before but hello to my discussion my friend. If you don't put gift tags on your gifts, how do you know who they are for and how does the person know who they are from? Espically if they don't open them in front of you? Our tree etc goes up in the loft so I have ot keep them somewhere esle or I would go and buy some from the shops and then find them a week before christmas which would be far too late!!! Pleased that you liked my idea. Do you have a frugal ideas for christmas?

I write the name of who the gift is for in permanent black marker. They don't need to know who the gift is from. We haven't met before in discussions. No frugal ideas I can think of for Christmas!!

i always buy stuff like that after CHristmas and stow it with the rest of the CHristmas stuff but generally, because i have a tag shaped paper punch, i use that to make my own gift tags for every season, not just Christmas. (i got it while using a half off coupon for Michaels.) Definatly worth every penny. i even use calendars!

That is SUCH a kewl idea. I put things like that in a ring binder with pockets and a view cover for inserting one of the cards as a reminder of what is inside. I store the binder on a special shelf that has all of my binders, as I use ring binders to organize all of the important stuff in my life (that will not fit in my smart phone, that is--I have a lot fewer binders now that the phone has evolved)

I have lots of gift boxes, tags, bags, and wrapping paper left over or recycled to be used next year. I put them all behind my recliner. Now I just have to remember that I have plenty so I won't buy any next year. Knowing me I will forget!

Well you are on top of the game, and actually thanks for writing this discussion as it reminds me a coworker asked if we get any cards to give the fronts to her. In any case that is a great little concept, you don't have to buy gift labels and they are more personal that way! Wonderful!

I never get any christmas cards anymore. No one sends them to me so I stopped sending them out to those that can't be bothered to return the gesture! But that is a great way to organize yourself...do it now and it is done for next year instead of having to store all the big cards and then finding time next year to cut them and create the tags.

We don't get many cards either, the children get quite a lot from school, hence it didn't take me too long!!! I gave up sending loads of cards because I couldn't see the point in sending a card to someone who only ever had contact at christmas and hated all the round robin letters!!! So like you I stopped sending and now only get cards from people who are important to me

I had the same issues with some of my Christmas decorations this year. I thought I had put all of them in boxes in the garage last year, but early this month when I started putting on the decorations, I couldn't find some of my lights and some of my tinsels for the Christmas tree. I had to buy a new set. I just hope I have enough time to pack them right this time, and remember where I put them next December.

Wow, that's nice. I have a place where I gather gift items. I place there my tags and recyclable ribbons. That way, when I start to pack the gifts, I immediately see them. Just be sure that where you keep it, it would not gather dust.

Puts hand over ears and sings..... such organisation. Our cards are still up and will end up being stuffed into a drwaer for about 5 years before being recycled with the waste! I really ought to be as creative!

Wow! That's a great idea. I would have never thought to make gift tags out of. I was planning on getting a picture album to put mine in. My mom used to do that and I always enjoyed looking through them. She saved every card. I got one card from Germany so all my cards are important to me.
