This is the one I am waiting for when its Christmas time. I also love this because violet is my favorite color. Aside from that I have made an article at wikinut about it and I got a star page!My first ever star page in wikinut. Is anyone here also write in wikinut? I would love to read your articles there too.

I am not so much into the halaya during the holidays. I prefer the leche flan but since I am not so good in making this recipe, I just order some from the neighbors. I would also be preparing some buko-fruit salad for New Year and some liempo and tilapia for broiling. The company groceries had some spaghetti ingredients so I might as well cook them too for New Year's eve. Some neighbors would probably be preparing halaya so I would just wait for one of them to share me some. You must know how difficult it is to be mixing the halaya once it has gotten so sticky. i don't want to be spending New Year with aching muscles.

I agree, its quite difficult to prepare so very few knows how to make this delicacy. Happy New year! Oh, I love the things you would prepare for your family for the celebration.

Ube yam - Filipino dessert
Halaya! I love this too. But I make sure there is not much food coloring. If possible I prefer real ube so the coloring is real and not too strong as those using food coloring such as in the attached photo. I like the original Good Shepherd Halaya (Ube yam) from Baguio City. They are free from food coloring and taste really good.

I cooked Ube Halaya and Leche Flan before Christmas, just for family consumption. I love cooking. My kids and hubby loves my cook very much too. I use Milkmade condensed milk in cooking this two for a more delicious product. This new Year, I won't cook this again, I need to rest *LOL... I'll cook beef Kare-kare this new year. We'll going to celebrate the day to my in-laws. Kare-kare will be my food share. Happy new year averygirl!
