I live in Michigan. In Michigan it snows and gets cold in the winter. I personally love snow (just hate driving in it). I don't even mind shoveling - it's good exercise :)
Anyway, after all these years, I still hear people complain whenever it gets below 30 or it snows. It's Michigan - get used to it! I have friends that have lived here their whole lives, just like me, but whenever it snows or gets cold they act surprised. Again, it's Michigan - it's nothing new, it happens every year.
Do you have people like this in your life who can't seem to accept the weather where you live? The weather isn't going to change in Michigan, if these people don't like it that badly - why don't they move? I don't have a problem with it, unless I have to drive. I get tired of people whining as winter approaches and then anytime a snowdrop hits the ground. What about you?

I'm across the pond from you. I agree we have some issues with people being surprised about the weather. Though I notice many complain but then always follow with the thought of.. "it's WI wait 5minutes it'll change" .
You also forget that people forget how to drive in snow and icy roads as well. That's how accidents happen they don't leave early and they don't drive slowly.

Yeah it does change all the time here too :) Part of being a midwesterner is to expect any weather any day!
True they cannot drive in it! I think it's more that people are impatient and unwilling to go slow in the winter. If everyone just respected everyone else and drove slow and cautious, we'd all get where we needed to be on time. But since a few jerks always have to speed, fly, cut ppl off, accidents happen and that holds up all traffic all over the place.
